Looks like this is the year of the Cicadas up here and they should be emerging any time now. These things are Interesting because they only come out of the ground around every 17 years. I was fairly young the last time they were here, but I remember them leaving their exoskeletons everywhere and being noisy (similar to a cricket). It was almost as bad as the Mayflies that I posted about not too long ago. Here`s a link for anyone interested in more specifics (such as Ray).

Yeah, I saw this happen in my backyard 3 years ago. Freaked the wife and kids out at first. The really odd thing is bee`s and ant`s try to kill/eat the Cicadas while they are warming their wings on the tree.
It is a wonderful thing to see and my kids and I learned a lot (couldn`t believe I hadn`t noticed this ever before)
