It's amazing how easy it is for people to get your credit card info. I have a card I use for Amazon, used it here, and once at McDonald's the other day (forgive me, I wanted ice cream and they were the only place open.)

Someone tried to pay their phone bill with it... In Guatemala.

It's always on this card. Never have a problem with either of my cards through USAA and I've used those at some shady places.

i try to use cash in "Shady Places" .. when I do go to them .. like Walmart :D
I don't carry cash very often. Cash is for the old farts. ;)
Nah, seriously though, USAA doesn't have a lot of physical banks and no local ATM's. They reimburse for the fees but I don't feel like dealing with the hassle.

Had similar issues twice. One time our card was used at an Arby's location two days after we had been there. Figure that one out. You know it was an employee but don't know if it was investigated. The other time was 1 year after we had taken a trip to Cancun, we used our card at a restaraunt while there and almost a year to the day later we were charged the exact same amount our meal came to and at the same location. They had a new card in our hand the next day in both instances.

I trust my card with Amazon before trusting it at McDonald's . I've seen a Starbucks Drive through employee steal a customer's card number by just taking it out of sight for a few seconds... the day after she was caught in a surveillance video shopping at a dept. Store with the customer's card.

Every time I've gotten my card stolen was at a fast food joint or department store(brick & mortar) .

I rarely use the drive-thru and don't let them walk away with my card. I worked fast food for a few years in high school and watched a few people get fired for credit card theft.

Huh, I've never used a card at a fast-food place. Never even used it at a Denny's that I can recall. For some reason I think of those as places where I just pay in cash.
