I have had this for a while. How can I know if it is still good to use or not?

I read you can re-melt them and then pour again into the pot

at your own risk of course

does it get all buttery when you rub a pad against it?

If you are going to try and re-melt the wax it needs to be done in a double boiler over water and at low heat. Once you start to re-melt wax it can be flammable so a double boiler over low heat is the way to go. I've had the same problem with Natty's wax in the past and contacted Poorboys and was told how to re-melt the wax. I've done it before and once the wax melts and you poor it back into the container and it hardens back it's just like new and works great.

I would remelt .. again as above at your own risk .. but many do with no problem ... if you use a microwave ..it's about 5 minutes on high .. keep an eye on it and stop as soon as it turns completely liquid .. then let solidify in room temperature .. and then ready to go ...

I prefer using a double boiler and then just pour back into the jar and let sit in room temperature ...

Noting that I've never used Natty'S Blue...

I'd be astounded if it didn't work fine. My paste waxes always work OK even when they appear far more dried-out than that. I wouldn't even bother remelting it, I'd just give it a try and see how it works.

If nothing else, you can prove me wrong if it doesn't work OK ;)

if it was really warm out and you could compress it with your fingers, probably work .. but it is intended to be a hard wax, where many pastes start fairly creamy ... but yes i have also used waxes much dryer looking than that with success just a tad more work ..lol

Double broil that.
It's too valuable to just throw away;

Plus, it's fun! You should try pouring some in an empty deodorant stick.
Makes it easy to apply to a machine pad!

Somebody here first came up with that "push-up stick wax" idea years before any of the mainstream manufacturers offered it. Oh man, I can *almost* remember his user-name, but nah...it's just not coming to me.

Yes, someone showed it to me and we made some prototypes, but the problem was that wax that is poured hot, and it seems to mess up the mechanism of the deodorant type container

If I remember right, when I did this a few years ago, I used an old Axe kilo dispenser.
It either sealed really well at the bottom, or the mechanism was resistant to being mucked up, because it worked perfectly for me.
Wouldn't you think the the deodorant people would have to pour that stuff in there while it was liquid too?

I feel like I could sneak some more wax in the house if it looked like deoderant. Just sayin' :D

:lol2:

I'll have to look into it again if it will make it easier to get past your wife :D
