Poorboys Nattys Paste Wax Blue... expired?

Yikes, I'd be sorely disappointed if my paste waxes went bad after 7 years...or 17 for that matter. As a non-Pro, I can't remember ever going through a tin of wax in just seven years, even when I had a lot of vehicles in regular rotation.

Proper storage and keeping it sealed tight will definitely help extend its' life ... I have some original Natty's that are 13 years old and still work fine ... another part of current waxes life expectancy is the lack of VOC's .. since the change, waxes and other products with petroleum distillates are just not going to last as long :( blame the government and environmentalists .. ;)

I would suggest the double boiler. It is important to mix very well once liquified, and also mix a few times as its setting up to keep the solids and plasticizers evenly distributed..

woo hooo! Good thing I just loaded up on a few tins of pre-VOC stuff. Oh yeah.

But I also store my tightly sealed stuff inside my bedroom (til i get a small fridge in the garage)

Ah, that explains at least part of my experience; my LSPs are almost all Pre-Voc.

I didn't expect that outcome either. I guess different waxes, different compositions. I used the double boiler method on some Midnight Sun and some leftover Christmas Grinch Wax, mixed the two together and it came out perfectly creamy.
