Zymols NEW wax

Does anyone know anything about the "solar activated container"? the container looks like the voodo thing from the Scooby Doo movie haha
 
Are you going to be able to tell the difference between a $30,000 wax (circa $60,000 if you want to buy it in the UK by the way, as its 30,000GBP) and a $30 wax - *really*?



Well, my guess is perhaps - you may notice a nuance different, the finish may be a little wetter perhaps, maybe the depth is a bit greater, or the beading a little tighter... But, IMHO, its nuances and nuances only that you will notice as a difference. No "wonder wax" will ever make a bystander's jaw drop like a just-polished finish from a skilled rotary user, and the $30k wax on such a finish is not going to look worth its value compared to a $30 wax. Of course, my opinion.



Another school of thought though just to consider: if this wax really is the best looking wax in the world (okay, so we've established that any enhancement to the finish it will give it small, way smaller than the price tag suggests), is the premium worth paying if you are that keen to achieve the ultimate? This is just me playing devil's advocate here... Its not my personal view but certainly a school of thought to consider.



Ultimately, I personally feel that this is simply silly money to spend on a wax - a product which at the end of the day, if you're skilled with a rotary polisher, or even a PC/UDM,is only going to add a very small enhancement to the finish if at all. It will protect it for sure... so will #16. I have spent circa $600 on an LSP in the past, and yes, it added a very small extra to my finishes - but ultimately the Swissvax Best Of Show wax is then only expensive wax I will probably re-buy on reflection as its got a little extra that's tenable (depth, and wettness) and those who's cars I detail notice the difference and they like it too. But I simply cannot see what could possibly be in a wax that would make it worth this price tag, and certainly cannot see anything in there that would make your finish look any more special than a skilled rotary user could.

I guess we have to wait and see if Jay Leno or other car nut orders this stuff.



One day, I'll have to stop by Zymol and ask some hard questions as to this stuff.

EDIT: Shipping isn't even included in that price. They still want $42 for shipping within the U.S. Everyone at the company probably rolls on the floor and laughs hysterically every time a purchase is made. I wouldn't be surprised if their products get added to KaleCoauto.com's website.

I agree. I went to a car show the other day and had seen a couple of cars with Vintage glaze wax on them. While they did look good, they still had haze on the finish from not properly polishing out the finish. When you have a properly polish surface, just about anything will look great. That is why I go more for protection and if I get extra gloss and depth, then they are great added bonuses.



To spend that much on a wax is crazy! What really makes it worth that much? The companies hype and fairy tail behind the story. I would rather give $30,000 to a starving person that really needs it. Zymol are the ones who are laughing all the way to the bank. They know that they will sell it to top guys and make a very fast fortune.
 
I think people will be more at "Aww" at the $ amount the wax cost than rather the looks of the wax.

I hear they're currently working on a new wax, called Eclipsis. It is activated by moonlight, so you can only apply it on a full moon. It costs $60,000 (shipping and tax not included) with free refills for life. The difference with this vs. Solaris is that you get a free detailer for this price. You carefully set Eclipsis on top of your hood on a full moon, and a warewolf appears from the shadows and applies it for you with his bare paws. It's currently still in beta stage, as the warewolf tends to leave scratches with his paw. They are thinking about substituting the warewolf for a Mexican in a wolf's costume instead.

If you were the guy who hit the powerball jackpot of $300+ million and took home

$100+milllion after taxes, ...........would you buy it??



$100 milllion in an average bank earning 3% a year is $3 million a year before taxes so lets say $1.8 million after taxes....thats $34,000 a week tax free. So this would cost less than a weeks worth of interest.

I really want to see if Paul Dalton is going to end up buying this and how much more he will charge to use it. probably like 10 grand a wax instead of 5g.
 
Pretty sure Paul Dalton won't be using this wax considering he's completely said no to Zymol. Oh quick hide before they censor anything that says Zymol... Shesh...

Actually if you check on detailingworld.co.uk, paul is not too happy with zymol and may be crossing over to swissvax.
