Zymols NEW wax

After talking to a rep the other day, I realized that they do want your money.

They want $5000 a year to be a lic. proffesional user. Yikes!

Also they said with the personal refills that they do not expect a person having it done until 4 years. They said if it gets refilled every year then they have the right to cancel the refill.
Stuff like this just pisses me off. :grrr

Just ordered two of them. In case turn around time for a refil takes to long, it's nice to have one extra on the shelf then :grinno:

I haven't been following that other thread (the most I've spent on an LSP is $30, not $30K)...but $30K is dumb, and $7K isn't??? Or was that just a joke that I didn't get? :o

I would never spend more than $250 on a wax. Let alone 7k. I said I could MAYBE justify another person buying it.

Could anyone buy that wax on here without going in severe debt? I doubt it.

Whatever floats your boat!:p

Anybody thought abiut how many times you could paint the friggin car for 30K ? I want a GOLD toilet, like that's gonna happen!

So here's my idea for a new product to rival Zymol. Instead of carnauba I'm going to use 100% Dilithium Crystals, as used to power the star ship Enterprise. This would give the paintwork enough protection to withstand road salt, detergents, acid rain and Klingon attack. I would also include a hand phaser, so that when the product runs out the customer could use the power from the phaser to recharge the crystals, as captain Kirk did most weeks. The product could then be used for a short time on impulse power. I'm going to market it at the kind of drivers who like to think that they drive along at warp speed. Suggested retail price, $2 000 000 per 1/2 ounce tub. But here's the best bit, it will only be available for pre-order, and not actually dispatched until the technology to make it becomes available. So, you pay your $2 million, and you get a certificate guaranteeing you one of the first batch made.

Great idea huh? I reckon I could sell a few at the next Star trek convention.

not according to mdrx8 he had his filled within 4 weeks. Very interesting

...[shrug]... $30K waxes, $100K bottles of wine, $250K musclecars...[other examples].. there are people for whom this amount of money isn't remotely significant and whatever they choose to spend it on is fine with me. At a certain level of wealth, it's just numbers on a statement- virtually an abstract concept compared to what "money" is to most people.

"Comes with its own detailer"? Sorta..I'd expect its purchasers to be the guys who look after collections: "Hey Mario, get some of that new Zymol and try it on the Silver Ghost for Pebble". If somebody spends a few hundred thousand doing the Pebble Beach weekend, do you *really* think they care about the cost of some $30K wax?

Guess I just hesitate to call somebody else [whatever] because I wouldn't want someone passing judgement on me because of the way I spend my money :D And honestly, it seems to me that most car-hobby people with that kind of money didn't get it by being stupid.

OK, OK...[Accumulator climbs down off his soapbox :o ]..

Heh heh, every time Zymol releases something like that, it causes so much buzz that I bet it's good advertising, even if people *are* all :nono about the price ;) It's the old "as long as you spell the name right..." thing, and a halo-effect on the rest of their stuff.

I was new to applying wax by hand. I really was not paying that much attention to how much I was using. And I wax my car every week. Thats why I bought it in the first place was for the refills. I did nothing wrong. Don't own a detail shop or anything of the sort. You pay dearly for the wax AND the ability to have it refilled!!! I ask them next time I return it how much insurance should I put on it. Diane said $500 would be ok. They have you listed in a data base so there is no problems. There is a sticker on the bottom with a scan bar also. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it.

Dude I am not making accusations take a chill pill, all I was saying was they had no problem filling your vintage within 4 weeks. SO what they told Ryan was BS you can refill as often as you want

BTW where are the pics???????????????????????????????? :-)

Price is all relative. And to someone who might not know anything about detailing this could be the "best" they see out there. Someone like the Sultan of Brunei would end up buying two of these for his car collection. Money is absolutely no object to someone like him though. He has around 3000 cars valued at over a billion dollars I believe to him 30k for a wax is nothing at all.

Hey Diesel everything is cool. No problems here. I want to clean the RX8 of all the other stuff like Meg UD, Fk 425, everything off the nothing but Vintage. Then I post some pic.'s

I think something like this is just to attract sales, like somebody said. What counts is what works for you, either Zymol or TW, as long as you're happy, keep it.

What would I do with $30K? Simple: GET RID OF DEBT!

With my financial obligations, I can't justify spending $50 on a wax -- when I can get great products for $10-$15. Any product over $100 on a daily driver is just crazy IMO.

Isn't great to live in the USA. There is no answer to the question of is it worth it or not.

Amen to that. I love the pontification in these sorts of threads, as if our personal values and opinions should apply to everyone. :2thumbs:

I'll say this; anyone who has $30,000 probably isn't an idiot or they wouldn't have $30,000 for wax.
