Meh, we all know polishes make 100x (maybe even 1000x) the difference a quality wax makes.

I was on the website yesterday and noticed the price increase as well as other waxes/estate glazes. I was going to pick one up at 30K but 45K forget it. A real rip off at 45K.:lol

I know that most waxes cost between 25 cents and 3 dollars to make, with most ranging in under a dollar. Add packagining and labeling and the price will increaes significantly. You are not paying for just the raw ingredients of course, but the RandD, marketing, and everything else that goes with it.

I know in some threads in other forums guys are experimenting by making their own waxes and I thought some have mentioned the carnauba was a little expensive. Of course when you are buying that stuff by the ounce it is probably much more expensive than buying it by the ton like wax makers do. Along with that, I have no idea how much all the goofy fruit extracts cost so I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

You are probably correct, research and design per tub of wax probably costs much more than the contents of the wax itself. Wax is probably similar to pharmacuetical drugs in that the cost of making the pill is next to nothing, the research that went into making the pills is probably hundreds of times higher than the materials cost.

I have heard that depending on the cost of metal, in many instances, the metal cans cost about the same as the beer or soft drink stored in the can. And both of those costs are nominal compared to the cost of marketing, shipping and taxes (if alcohol). I have never seen the research to back this up but have heard it in many cases.
