ZR1 detail with CF correction

Here's another ZR1 that came to my stable last week. Like every ZR1 I've seen and worked on, the CF parts were covered in swirls and buffer holograms from the factory. The rest of the car was very clean, considering it had only 337 miles on it lol. It still got the usual detail. Wash, Clay, and Zaino, but this got 2 coats :) The CF bits are definitely tricky to work with, but after a couple hours, they came out 100% perfect :)

Process:

Exterior

-Foamed with Dawn

-Rinsed and Dawn wash

-Megs APC 5:1 on wheels/tires

-Swissvax Wheel brush

-Clayed with Z18 and Megs LT as lube

-Tires with Zaino Z16

Interior

-Vacuumed

-Leather with Megs APC 10:1

-Zaino Z10 conditioner

-Stoner's Invisible Glass on windows

-vents and console cleaned with various brushes/qtips

Correction

-Menzerna SIP on LC 4" orange

LSP

-Zaino ZAIO

-Zaino Z5pro

-Zaino Z6

hot car - I have it's "little" brother a C6 Z06,

More than likely the "factory lameness" you speak of is actually caused by whoever sold the car (dealer) vettes (esp the Z06 and ZR1) go thru a fair amount of paint inspection before leaving the factory. unless the factory has started washing cars (they dont) then whoever the dealer was needs to be b*tch slapped for wrecking such beautiful CF parts. Awesome work!

Actually, the ZR1s go through PDI at the dealer and then its parked until they can have me come down there. No one is allowed to touch them but me. They are coming out of the enclosed trailer like you see it here.

Thanks! :)

Very Kool! Has anyone figured out the real deal on using the right/wrong products on these Carbon Fiber pieces yet? When I spoke to Sal a while ago he wasn't sure if his sealants would be a good idea or not based on the TSB from GM. Have you witnessed any problematic residue return with polish/LSP on these surfaces?

i agree. i've been to the factory twice and these cars do not leave with the CF looking like that. that "lameness" was installed by someone else somehow, somewhere.

MY GOD!!!! That is a sexy car....

Also, there is no way that car left the factory looking like that:argue
