$20 for 2 ml's????? How much of the stuff do you need for each coat??? That seems like a lot of $$$'s for such a small amount...

bigboyhf,

I mixed two full bottles of polish with a 2ml vial of ZFX. It goes a long way. You only add 4 or 5 drops per ounce. You have to compare your time saved with the cost of the product.

in medical stuff anyway;)....i used about 1/2 the vial(20 drops) for the 6 coats...but i always apply the Z5 a little heavier than the Z2....so figure about 12-15 applications per vial...for me anyway...............db...how the heck did u get 2 8oz bottles out of that 1 vial...you da man...you must go super thin....thats awesome....:up

From the zainobros website: "...Each ZFXâ„¢ kit comes with a 2ml vial of accelerator mix and several 2 ounce mixing bottles. A single ZFXâ„¢ kit provides enough mix to accommodate 16 ounces of Zaino Show Car Polish......."

Read applications for directions of use. If you go one ounce per coat, that is enough ZFX for 16 coats, for 20 bucks........And no more Z1! Also, you don't have to use ZFX for every coat......just use it when you want to do multiple ones in one day every now and then. One vial could last a long time.

I will wait like usual. And since my Z dries pretty fast here I can maybe do without since I prefer to apply layers once a month anyway.

<span style='font-size: 14px;'>THANK THE LORD OUR PRAYERS HAVE BEEN ANSWERED!!!! :D

im getting some right now! this will soooo help me since i only see my car on friday nights to sunday nights.... not alot of time when using Zainos 24 curing period:down

where did u read about that vial and mixing bottles that suppose to come with the kit? i cant find it on their web site and am unsure if they really include that... seems like the zfx needs to be carefully mixed to not only give good results but also save some money

nvm, i found it:D

strange thing though, they said this:

"Squirt a dime size dab of polish on your applicator and rub it into your paint using circular hand motions. Then, go over the same area using a straight back and forth motion on top panels and an up and down motion on side panels. Allow the polish to haze over (20 minutes is sufficient). "

why the circular motions? and im sure they know what they r talking about too....

.....it must be a microdropper...the stuff i had must have been like 1.5ml....but i could have swore it was more like 2...anyway,,,,who cares...i still have about 1/2 left so....man it came out when no one expected....cool beans!!!:up

You have to use the polish within a 5 hour window after it has been mixed with Zfx. At any rate you should not mix an entire bottle of it, just do 2 oz at a time (about two coats worth - if you're doing one coat why mix at all?)

I rarely use more than a 4 -5 1/4" dabs of Z2/Z5 to do the entire Z28 convertible and the drying time in Va usually takes about 2hrs when done in heated garage. I doubt if I use more than 1/4 oz per coat ( extremely thin applications ) and my results are awesome. I probably can porportion down the 1oz polish/ X drops ZFX to my usage amount. I just would hate to waste anyZ2/Z5. This stuff is sooo good.

I fight myself not to layer every other day now!! With ZFX now I must fight myself from multi-layering everyday.;)

Can you say 100 layers by Spring!!!

Maybe I will try using a little more.:). I must be applying too little if a Vette conv uses more than a Z28 conv. If I am applying too thinly and I apply just a little bit more the Awesome results will become Unbelievable results!! :bounce:

You will see a difference in shine and durability and you don't have to use Z1. After the car looks the way you want it though, I would just add plain coats of Z2. ZFX is not required for every coat....although it is sure going to be tempting.....hehe

What do you know, I leave for a few hours and come back to find out ZFX is available.:) Oh well, I am going to order some ASAP I can't wait to try it!

Do you really think it looks different with ZFX versus regular Z2/Z5 coats? Or is this more or less a marketing thing? The Z1 issue isn't a big deal to me really. I do plan on trying ZFX out soon, though. It would be nice to do three or four coats in one afternoon. I also want to try Blackfire sometime.
