Today, for whatever reason, I caught that detailing bug and spent a few hours out in the driveway. I mostly worked on the interior, which didn't need much aside from a little leather conditioning. I tried out that Zaino Leather in a bottle. Another Zanio product I really liked. What I liked most about it is that it gave the seats a "semi-gloss" but no slickness like those meguairs wipes; there like wiping motor oil on the seats. At the same time the leather actually appeared as though they were being treated. I could have swarn they said thank you afterwards, then again it was 85*F out and I was in the sun all day:help: .
As for the ZCS.... its an interesting product that I don't think I know how to apply properly yet. Most people seem to have a problem with using too much; I always hear people saying to use a minimal amount. Well heres what I did. I decided to use a meguairs quick detail sponge (the yellow one shaped like a giant dog bone) because thats all I had and its REALLY soft. I spayed a mist on a panel from about a foot away, and then another next to it so the whole panel was misted with ZCS. Then I wiped it down. As I wiped I say the rainbow colors. The bottle says to work it into the paint which is what I did. Well by the time I worked it in the rainbow had disappeared and I was left with a panel that looked as though I had put nothing more then quick detailer on it. I was under the impression that you should have some sort of hazy residue left over and within a few hours or so it went away. This was almost instantaneous. One thing I will mention is that I did come out a hour later and the car was as shiny as the first time I detailed it using 12 or so steps. So maybe it did work. How will I really ever know? :grinno: (thats a retorical question)
