Zaringe Rules

Hi everyone,

Well, I picked up my new silver Civic SI. Did a dawn wash and dried. The paint was horribly rough. Was this thing dipped in ferrous particles? Did a real through clay job and is now smooth as glass.

I decided to try the syringe method to apply Zaino with ZFX. I put 7cc (just less than .25 oz) of Zaino and 1 drop of ZFX. I stirred it with a long wooden match stick and wiped the excess on the Z6'd foam applicator. Didn't want to waste a drop.

I got two full coats from this. I know I didn't miss a spot because I could see where the film was being applied under the flourescent lights. The car looks very reflective now. Much better than the dealers prep.

Thanks for introducing me to Zaino :D

Question:

Even when applying back to back coats of Zaino, do you still Z6 between each or just the last ?

And to all you Canadians, Zaino IS available at The Barbers Chair in Square One as previously mentioned before. I spoke to the owner and he buys his stock from the distributer in Guleph. This guy charges a dollar more for each product but considering if you buy from Guelph, you have to pay $8 for shipping.

Just keep your items at 8 or less (very difficult) and it's the same price.

Yes, you can and should use Z6 between every coat and after the last. Z6 really helps boost shine and add slickness so that each coat goes on very easy and thin. You can use Z6 with ZFX or Z1, makes no difference...either way Z rocks!

:wavey

where's a good place to get some saringes for that sort of thing? i'm kinda mad since today i had to dump almost a 1/4oz. of Z-5 since i spread it so thin.

ok, maybe i'm stupid but how can i add another coat when i have to wait 8 hours in between. is there something i'm missing here?

either way, i just wanna find the zaringe

Nice choice in the car :up Did you get a US or canadian version? Is the '02 canadian version the same as the us? Ie hatchback with 160 horse 2.0L and so on? My SI is covered in Zaino too... looks good on those.

Hrmm

Where are you folks finding your syringes around town? Or on line for that matter? I like this idea a lot..

Rob K,

Did you mean Erin Mills Town Centre or Square One? Cause I know they have it at the Barbers Chair in EMTC....

Great to find it locally! If I ever get bored of Klasse maybe I'll pay a visit to the Barbers Chair...:up

The Canadian SI version is like the US EX? version. It is a 1.7L

SOHC VTEC 127 Horses. I got the 2 door sedan. The car you are talking about is the SiR up here. Not sure why the different versions. Maybe Honda needs to get their act together.

I bought it at Square One, lower floor, just outside and to the left of Walmart

You can find rather small syringes at a local drug store (oral syringe), but they won't hold much. .25 ounce was about all I could get in one. Last time I mixed several batches to do my coats. Someone recommended asking your vet (if you have pets). On that recommendation, I was ordering some dog stuff online and found that my pet supply store has syringes in all different sizes. They are extremely cheap, unless you only order a few syringes then the shipping eats you up. If you need other pet related things, a site I found to be useful (meaning cheap and good service) is:

http://www.countrysidepet.com/syringesonly.html

That is their link to the sryinge page. I ordered several where I could mix .5 ounce up to an ounce. They seem of better quality than what I found at CVS.

Unless you were using ZFX, the Z5 would have been fine to keep as is, otherwise only a 30 minute wait to buff off the last layer then you could have used that remaining 1/4 oz. to get another layer on. The 8 hour wait is when using Z5 without ZFX.

Make that Z go as far as possible :xyxthumbs

Why would you dump Z-5 unless you had ZFX'd it.. then maybe I could understand.. it's not like Z-5 gets contaminated from squirting it on your applicator pad?

I picked up 2 35 mL syringes today at a vet down the road from my house, I paid 1.50/ea..
