Has any one ever noticed that Zaino's clay bars are the exact same product as that tacky post it material?(the stuff you vreak off and hang posters, pictures, ect w) What a scam. lol:)

I guess I missed the point. What's the scam? The fact that the polyclay bar works well or that it looks like a pack of postit notes?

Totally agree with you, it's just when I opened the package and realized I just bought the same material at Office Max for $2.00 it made me a little disappointed, o well it’s all good!

:)

I'm not sure I understand. There must be a LOT of stickem on a post-it. If a clay bar is post-it stickem, which I doubt in the first place, it would probably do a thousand post-its.

In any event, not that important!

Not sure I understand the thread.

Zaino Clay is one of my favorites. I like the rubbery feel as opposed to the soft clay that leaves so much residue. It picks up well, glides easily (I use a 50/50 mix of water and Zaino shampoo as a lube.) and is very clean. Does a great job.

is something you can buy in an office supply store. It looks like a clay bar. You pull little pieces of the bar off and use them to hang things like posters. It is like an adhesive (much like rubber cement only more substantial). That is my take on his comment.

[/b]</blockquote>I think I know the product he's talking about; the brand name I'm familiar with is "Fun-Tack" or something like that. There's a suprising similarity between that stuff and the Z-bar, at least in look and feel (although I doubt they're identical in composition, and I'm in no hurry to experiment on my car with something designed to hang posters :D).

It is a product that is basically sticky clay. It is just sticky enough to hang a poster but not sticky enough to remove the backing. I am sure you could use this without hurting your paint. It is kind of like "Silly Putty" just not as smooth.

That you would find something that looks and feels like a clay bar and then make the comment that one particular manufacturer of clay bars is perpetuating a scam on us all.

Have you ever noticed how much Zaino clay, Mother's clay, and several other clays all look more or less identical? But not quite?

I must be getting paranoid - seems that there are a number of people that hold a Z-grudge. I've used the poster stuff for posters though. But I wouldn't pore olive oil in my crankcase just to see what would happen! :D

I remember Forrest from Mother's once posted that their clay has no relation to Play-Doh and other "clay-look-a-likes."

There are a limited number of clay bar manufacturers. Each company out there specs clay bars to their needs/desires, and the manufacturers respond accordingly.

I have seen the sticky tack you're referring to , and I can assure you it is NOT the same as a claybar. I tried some on a test panel, and it did not perform in an acceptable manner.

However, if you feel clay bars are a scam, don't use them, or buy some of the tack stuff and have at it.

Don't be surprised if it causes problems, though.
