Zainoed vehicle... S100 the roof?

As the subject says. I'm actuallly in the process of buffing off the layer of Z2-Pro. Underneath it are 2 layers of Z5.

First layer of Z5 was topped with Z6, and the second layer topped with Z8.

The entire vehicle was washed with Dawn and then clayed (except the roof and bumpers unfortunately, those only had the Dawn wash but no clay).

The vehicle is an '05 Cadillac SRX with white metallic (or was it pearl.. something like that) paint and is in Austin Texas, so lots of direct sunlight.

I was thinking S100 but then theres that whole "Wax melts" thing... It wont be getting another coat of Zaino for at least 3-4months, and I'm not sure of when it'll get washed as my parents will be driving it and dont get it washed too often.

So back to the question, is it worth putting the S100 on the roof to give it another layer of protection or is it worthless to do given the heat and sun?

Oh and if it IS worth doing, then should I put a coat of Z6 underneath it or Z8? Or just buff the Z2 and then S100?

Thanks

Gagan

That was the second idea, leave it untopped but I've also seen some people on these forums say S100 makes a great topper.

Also kinda OT but what about Klasse AIO and S100? Top it or not? This is for a black cherokee that will be staying in Georgia so no Zaino going on there for now, but I have the AIO and S100 ready for it. AIO is going on for sure, but same thing, top with S100?

I would. AIO alone might not be enough protection, so definetely top it with something. If u only have s100 then top it with that.

I also have the whole line of zaino wax except the z5 and the cleaning stuff. I only used zaino as the topped on my car but i did put it over AIO in some areas. I would ue s100 on other vehicles. I hav e the p21s which i will use on other cars.

I have not had many experiences with waxes and polishing since i just joined the forum and am on the verge of learning. One thing i know, since you are in Atlanta, GA you will need ALOT of protection from the acid rain that is a plague on Georgia (my vw gti's clearcoat is ruined because of Georgia). I would use AIo to polish once a year or so and then put on a few coats of p100 or other, even more on the roof and hood. Just make sure to wait 24 hrs between coats. I would do some research on the strongest wax available so u can have excellent protection against georgias rain. If you dont want to get the best then i would just do AIO with P100 and wash it regularly afterward but still put on a few coats of p100.

Seems like the only reason to top the Zaino with S100 would be if you prefer the look it gives you to the Zaino look. That's a personal preference. If you don't know which you prefer, try it. The S100 will be gone in a couple months, so if you don't like it, you can just Zaino again when you're ready and leave the S100 off this time.

I like both the Zaino and the S100 appearances. But they are different looks. Zaino is more glossy and reflective. S100 is a deeper traditional carnauba look. I say go for it and see what you think.

If the only reason you want to add the S100 is for more protection on that part of the vehicle, it's probably not worth it. The Zaino will easily last you 3 or 4 months anyway.
