Zaino ZFX Necessary With Z2?

Hi guys, is ZFX really necessary when using Z-2 Pro? I don't understand why it's so necessary in my first application use with Z2 Pro...

Also, can i buy this over the counter in the US (Socal)?

3 coats of Zaino ZFX at 30 min intervals. Pass door, black Corvette Z06. Can you see where the rocker panel stops and the driveway begins?

From what I understand Zaino is just a sealeant/wax that comes with an advanced hardner that will allow you to reapply. I may be wrong, but my results have been great non the less.

I'm getting 2 different responses, don't know which is the correct one?

Over the counter, highly unlikely.

ZFX is only needed when doing multiple coats in one day.

^ Does that mean if I leave an overnight interval to do the 2nd coat, I wouldn't need ZFX? I'm not sure what the purpose of ZFX is, really.

According to an email response I got from Zaino, you need to use either Z- AIO or ZFX even if you're using 1 coat.

Do they say why? Trying to make sense out of it.

Did you apply it with ZFX?

ZFX is like an Epoxy hardner. Once wax is hard you can double up. The blue vile of accelerator speeds the time frame. Allowing multiuple coats in a short time period

So basically no matter how many coats I'm going to apply-even if it's just one coat, I will need the ZFX or else I won't be expecting a (6) months durability on the Z2?

Nope, not that at all. Z2 needs an overnight cure before applying another coat. ZFX additive speeds the curing process so you can do three coats a day instead of one coat/day.

He is exactly right. There may be some additional benefits of crosslinking, etc. however the main purpose of this additive is to allow detailers the ability to apply multiple coats in a day. If you have time and can wait a day between coats there is no reason for the ZFX. You WILL achieve the same results with long lasting quality. I've recently started using Zaino and I will say the results are stunning. I've also recently tried out the Ultima Paint protection spray and that too is unbelievable. To me, these are the probably the best two products on the market for long lasting durability and unbelievable shine, depth and wetness.

Zaino has the best website for answering all your questions Zaino Store Make sure you also look at the "Tips and Tricks" section. If you can't find the info you need just drop Sal a note.

Seems to work just fine for me applying a single layer over ZAIO. Since ZAIO also has protection in it, adding 1 coat of Z2 or Z5 over it ensures full coverage and protection. If you want to layer, just add another coat with each wash for a few weeks. Makes the first detailing session with Zaino take less time.
