Zaino Z5 Pro and Z2 Pro Discussion

Hey guys,

Been a Zaino and P21 user for some time. As you all know Zaino reformulated Z2 and Z5. What are your thoughts on the differences of both?

It sure seems to me that the Z5 Pro claims on the bottle sound more impressive in terms of: "Filling Swirl Marks and Fine Scratches-Toughest and Longest Protection".

Should I even bother with Z2 Pro any longer?

Now on to ZPC Fusion Paint Cleaner. It does smooth the finish, but how does it really do at "Safely Removing Minor Scratches-Swirls & Blemishes"?

One more question. Z18 Clay. How the hell do I clay without scratching? I've been claying for years expermenting with all types, different solutions, different directions, folding and refolding, not folding at all and tossing it after just using on a small section. EVERY time I clay I pick up something and put a straight line scratch in the finish.

My newest addition is my 997S in seal grey.

I appreciate all your professional input.

Thanks and Happy Holidays to all.

What color is your car? I prefer Z5 Pro for dark colors. Both Z2p and Z5p are greatly improved and virtually idiot proof. They dry much faster and give you an even deeper and wetter look than their predicessors.

I think Sal has finally caught up to the carnuaba manufactures as far as the "look" goes and has been able to retain the durability that his sealant has always been known for.

I use both but like the Z2p for light color cars and metallics and z5p for dark colors.

On your ZPC Q I think it does work nice on mild scratches and swirls and is on par with other finishing type paint cleansers and swirl removers as far as its strength goes. It is one of my favorite SSR's and ranks right up there with Menzerna and 3M IMHO.

On the clay, spread it out real thin like a pancake and use a good QD as a lube and just glide it across the surface and you should not get ANY scratches. I have had good success with both of Zaino yellow and red clay. I also liked Mothers Clay a lot.

There are only a few manufactures and most companies sell the same stuff for the most part.

And if you drop it get a new bar, period.

Seal Grey. It's kind of a slate grey color. not light or dark. It is metallic.

I think I would go with Z5p if I had to choose only one. If you can try both and see which one you like best. You can always use Z5p for filling any swirls you are not able to remove and finish up with Z2p but I think you will end up liking the Z5p better if you are anything like me.

I like Z5pro on my solid black cars. It does take some time to dry. If you don’t let it dry properly, you will create an oily looking dust magnet.

Z2 looks great on my white car; I haven’t tried the Z5 on it yet.

For your color car, why chance it? Go with the z5pro and ZFX.

I cant clay with out scratching the car no matter how much lube I use on my black SAAB, I guess it has soft paint? My Jeep is white and I have to clay it frequently, it sits under trees at the train station. No visible problems on that white paint after claying.

My new Q7 is a grey that is similar to your color, has not been clayed yet, Ill give it a go in March but I already hit it a few times with Z5pro.
