We're getting closer. If using ZPC for prep you can skip a dawn wash. ZPC and ZAIO have cleaning ability.
ZPC
ZAIO
Z5P
CS
Z8 (optional)

As I read the thread;
"The Zaino site says use Dawn to get rid of the "wax buildup on his paint." (Mr. Cleans copy and paste from the Zaino site)
blucpe topped the Zaino with NXT X2 (blucpe's post)
He surely has some wax buildup, even with NXT.

So the Dawn wash is recommended by Zaino.
If using ZPC for prep you can skip a dawn wash.
mgm2003 says, "Zaino recommends using a one time Dawn wash to remove any silicone oil from the paint, jams and other hard to reach areas." (mgm2003's post)
So the Dawn wash is recommended by Zaino per mgm2003's post.
wannafbody says, "If using ZPC for prep you can skip a dawn wash." (wannafbody's post)
The Zaino site says you can go directly to an LSP after the Z-PC.
Wannfbody shows using ZAIO after the Z-PC.
The Zaino site says you don't need to follow ZAIO with a LSP if you don't want to.
wannafbody says to follow the ZAIO with two products and an optional third one.
Yeah, I got it now.

I'm sure blucpe understands perfectly too.
Blucpe, I am not a Zaino user, (I have used it), but in reading the Zaino application instructions, it appears that:
Z-PC is fairly abrasive and should not be used on a regular basis.
They suggest trying the ZAIO first as the least abrasive. Standard procedure, least aggressive to do the job.
If the ZAIO does the job, you can leave the ZAIO or top it with another Zaino product. Your choice, but the ZAIO seems to be a stand alone product.
If the ZAIO doesn't do the job, use the Z-PC to remove the marring.
The Z-PC does need protection after it is used. That protection can be ZAIO or Z5P to help with any minor marring left by the Z-PC.
So as I understand the Zaino site.
Dawn wash
ZAIO and you are good to go. Other LSP's can be added but aren't really necessary.
If you need the Z-PC, follow it with either ZAIO or anothe LSP. The paint has no protection after the Z-PC.
Anything after that is optional.
The system isn't complicated or involved, it's just made to sound that way.
The many coats/layers that are often talked about aren't really necessary per the Zaino site.
Blucpe, you will receive a PM shortly.
