Zaino Z-8 and water spots

I have been a Zaino user for about 1.5 years, but I have just recently started using the Z-8 Grand Finale detail spray. Is anyone out there using the Z-8 detail spray having problems with very noticeable water spots? I am assuming that the etching is in the Zaino and not the clearcoat. The Z-6 detail spray seems to remove them after some hard wiping. Also, I have been using the Z-6 and then Z-8 inbetween coats of Z-2Pro or Z-5Pro locking in it. It seems to be causing longer drytimes on each subsequent layer. Maybe I should just be allowing the Z-8 to cure for some time before adding the next layer. The Zaino website says that the guys at the company use the Z-6, Z-8 combo between layers so I assume it should be compatible. Has anyone tried locking in the Z-8 between layers with good results?

All Zaino products are compatible, so that's never a problem.

There is no need to use both Z6 and Z8 between coats of Z2 or Z5. Use just one. Your longer drying times are probably due to extra moisture from the two coats.

I don't think Z8 has anything to do with waterspots, nor do I think Z6 removes them. I think your rubbing removes them -- the Z6 is only serving as a lubricant -- it has no abrasives at all. Some dilluted Z7 in a spray bottle would probably be better on the water spots.

Finally, I'm not sure your are "locking in" the Z8 or the Z6 when you apply it between coats. My impression has always been that it is used for the purpose of making the subsequent coat easier to apply and later remove.

But I'm no chemist.

I skip the Z-6-8 "between coats".

I will Z-6 or Z-8 after I wash, and before the first coat of a multi application, but not between each coat of a multi coat application.

I was wrong about the purpose of using Z6 or Z8 between coats.

Zaino does suggest that this be done, and its purpose is to enhance the gloss, which is a good thing. From the "Application Directions" on the Zaino web pages:

"Use Z-6 "Gloss Enhancer" spray as per directions, between each and every coat of Z-5 or Z-2 PRO. It really helps give a three dimensional look.

It's [sic: Sal means to say "Its"] antistatic properties will reduce dust and dirt pickup by 60%. Z-6 can be used immediately after removing Z-2 PRO or Z-5 or right before applying the next coat of Z-2 PRO or Z-5. Most of my customers prefer to use Z-6 both, before and after Z-2 PRO or Z-5 for that extra gloss boost."
