Zaino Z-5 question

Will Multiple layers of z-5 darken the paint at all?

Well I finally got the Zaino on my truck and I must say it looks awesome and the shine is second to none.

The problem is I dont really like it. It made my paint look very light and there is almost no depth to it and there is no wet look at all just a incredible shine.

Would adding like 5-6 or more layers of Z-5 acheive this?

How about something like AIO or Menzerna FP under it?

Topping with Trade Secret or P21S?

If you are now swirl and light scratch free, use Z-2 + ZFX .Here's what the Zainostore.com says:

"9. You can switch to Z-2 as soon as you are happy with the way the paint finish looks. Example, no more swirls, scratches etc. It's up to you. Z-2 has higher optical properties than Z-5. You can go from Z-2 to Z-5 and then back to Z-2 as often as you want. Z-2 and Z-5 are 100% compatible and interchangeable. You should always end with Z-2 as the last coat because of its higher optics."

This is the sitre for application instructions from Zaino:

HRP

I have read and re read that and have even printed it. I am just trying to find something or someway to darken it up a little bit. I thought I read somewhere multiple layers of Z-5 would do this. Not sure though.

Well, yeah, zaino isn't really good for depth, atleast on light color vehicles.. I've found, incredible shine though.

MindFlux I couldnt agee more on the shine. I have never used anything that has made this much shine. Guess maybe it just isnt meant for my color wich is a shame cause I love the shine just not the overall look.

Z5 looks a little "darker" on my car than Z2, but not much. I'm guessing you're working with the black truck in you avatar ?

You might want to give 1Z products a go, it looks like you have used them in the past?? I hear they give off wonderful depth.

z5 didnt do crap for my red gt

the aio topped with p21s sounds good!

p21s gives me a better shine than z2 or z5 imo...z5 is meant to fill swirls but it doesent!

My results from Zaino was also a bright shine.

However, topping it with Souveran darkened/warmed-up the red very nicely!

If you ddon't like it, strip off the wax and keep the Zaino-only sealant on the finish.

I'm about to try the Wolfgang/Soveran combo soon.

Too many products.... too little time

Maybe EX will have the same effect as on Zaino as it does SG...

Check out my car's black finish in direct sunlight with Sgx2+EX....

I just did a (sorry no pics) z5, z5, z5, z2, P21S on my dark green metallic accord, I definatley see the green metallic more now that I added the P21S Carnuba topper.

Top it with S100. And next time maybe leave the Zaino off.

I've got unused Zaino which might find it's way on my my wife's silver car. But I found the Z to be a waste on my black single-stage. It's already a mirror, adding more shine wasn't what it needed.

I'm going to try NXT on her car this summer. I'm not fond of the pickyness of Zaino. However, that is what's on her car now. Durability rocks with Zaino, as it's 7 months old and still looks and beads great. Carnauba is unnoticable on her silver, just like Zaino is unnoticable on my black.

I've got cars that are total opposites.

I too was dissapointed in Z5 on black and had AIO under it.Try some NXT it really darkened up and added a little more of that wet look.My AV looked better after polishing with 1Z PP and MP than after adding the Zaino.

the best way to obtain the best depth and wetness has not changed.... I still adhere to DavidB's original prescription for the ultimate shine. Multiple coats of Klasse followed by Pinnacle Souveran (after prepping your paint properly, of course).

When three or more layers of SG are applied, the darkening effect is very noticeable....primarly due to how effectively SG layers. Follow that up with the best wax on the market (Souveran) and you've got yourself the best shine money can buy. :D

The car below was done by Michael H (the wax wizard!).
