Zaino Suggestions?

I'm not really new to detailing my car, Ive been using the Adams Essentials Kit along with quite a few other products for about 6 months now just trying to get a feel for detailing. I have recently purchased a PC 7424 with some LC pads, but haven't had the chance to use it yet.

I definitely don't have a show car finish yet, but I'm hoping the PC will assist in make that happen as soon as I get the chance to use it. My problem is that I just moved Pittsburgh for college and I'm not very comfortable detailing my car along a busy street which means I have to make a 3 hour drive to my parents house any time I want to give my car a proper detail. I can wash and QD my car at the local car wash but and real detail cant be done here at my apartment.

I am looking into purchasing some Zaino products because the Adams Butter Wax leaves a lot to be desired in terms of durability. Durability is a must for me because of my situation.

I have metallic blue paint (which will soon be swirl mark free) and I wanted to know which product (Z2 or Z5) would highlight my paint color and the metallic in my paint the most. Ive been researching it a fair amount but seem to get conflicting opinions on which one would appear best on a metallic paint and figured it would be easier to just make a post.

Heres a pic of my car which will hopefully aid suggestions.

I would personally go with Z5Pro, as it's look is going to be pretty similar to Z2 anyway, but the Z5 will also help fill in micromarring on your darker colored paint. If I were to have just one for darker colors, it would be Z5.

Durability between Z2 and Z5 is similar, so no huge benefit in choosing one or the other there.

I would also go with the Z5PRO for the reason stated above but also Z5PRO will be great to hide those quikie washing sessions micro-marring when you are away at college (studying is more important than a sharp vehicle) between the complete detailing sessions at you parents.

Good luck at college and detailing can be a great way to relax when taking a few hours away from the books. :woot2:

Welcome to the Burgh :2thumbs: I have navy blue mettallic paint and Z5pro topped with Z8 looks great. IMO the Z2pro isn't needed.

Thank you all very much for the quick replies :thx

My plan is to wash and clay, then use Scratch X for the swirl marks and then go over it with the Adams Revive Polish, are either of my 2 polishing items going to cause bonding issues with the Zaino? If so, would washing my car (with NXT)after polishing solve it?

I was hoping to make a trip home within the next month or so to give my car a complete detail before I start college and hopefully with some Zaino it will maintain decently through the winter.

I'm going to PTI for Computer Forensics and I only have classes from 12 to 4, but will supposedly have about 4 hours worth of homework every night. I definitely agree that studying is more important than having a good looking car. Since Ive been like 12 years old my dream has been to own a TT 6-spd Toyota Supra and if I do good in college that is going to be one of my first investments :spot

Thank you all once again!

A wash would definitely be required to remove the Scratch X dusting and Adams' polishing oils. To save a little time, one could also substitute a post-polishing wash with a Cali dusting and IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipedown.

I'd use the Z5 if you were only able to afford to get one. Ideally if you could get two, do it. You might want to consider getting one of their show car kits if you can. Remember when you do use it, that a LITTLE goes a long way. Multiple thin layers is the secret to Zaino.

Don't use the Revive polish...it's just a ton of oils and if you plan on Zaino you won't want them there anyway

just get the ZPC- it works well, leaves a Zaino ready finish and will save you some time.

ZPC, ZFX, Z5Pro- Z2pro/Z8 optional

Since the Revive Polish is just a bunch of oils I will skip out on that, but is Scratch-X going to leave the surface hazy or leave any micro-marring with an LC Orange pad? If the surface isn't going to be presentable what product would compliment S-X?

scratch x works best by hand and may gum up with a RO. I'd suggest ZPC or Mothers Powerpolish with a 50alcohol/50water mixture wipedown
