Zaino Question

I am wondering if I should buy new bottles of Zaino since my garage isn't heated and the Zaino may have reached right around freezing temperatures... Basically, would the cold ruin the Zaino ZAIO, Z-5, Z-2, Z-6, Z-8...?

Also, I know that Zaino is supposed to be good for about five years. I have some that is four years old and wonder what observations you guys have had about the shelf life...

You want constant temps (like indoors or maybe a fridge) for any detailing product to keep a longer shelf life.

If product still shakes or hasn't dried out I would say they are PROBABLY okay.

As long as it hasn't separated, it is fine, but yeah, as jmsc posted, constant temps are critical to product life. I've got stuff that is over 10 years old and its still fine.

Pastes can easily last decades if stored correctly. They don't (usually) separate but they will shrink over time and get harder.

From the Zaino website:

Q: What is the usable shelf life of Zaino products?

A: A 70° room temperature is best for the longevity of Zaino products. Due to the optical additives used, extreme heat or cold can result in a decrease in gloss-enhancing properties.

When stored at average room temperature between 65° and 75° degrees, shelf life is as follows:

Z-PC 3+ years

Z-AIO 3+ years

Z-CS 5+ years

Z-1 For optimum results, use before 3 years.

Z-2 For optimum results, use before 3 years.

Z-3 For optimum results, use before 3 years.

Z-5 For optimum results, use before 3 years.

Z-6 5+ years

Z-7 5+ years

Z-8 5+ years

Z-9 5+ years

Z-10 For optimum results, use before 2 years.

Z-12 For optimum results, use before 2 years.

Z-14 For optimum results, use before 2 years.

Z-16 3 to 5 years

Z-18 5 years +

ZFX For optimum results, keep tightly capped, avoiding moisture. Use before 24 months.

Thanks. Maybe I should have not given them away.:hmph:

Shake the heck out of it and you should be fine as long as it doesn't remain separated.

Many of my paste waxes have shrank over time from the solvents evaporating. Poorboys is the worst.
