Zaino question

I have liked Zaino for a long time. It has good shine, very good durability and is fairly easy to work with.

Last month, I used my FLEX 3401 with a white pad and menzerna Nano polish prior to going to a show. I "think" I did an IPA wipe down after wiping the menzerna off, then went to ZFX and a few coats of Z2PRO. The gloss was very deep. In fact, I was probably the only '04 in my class that had minimal scratches on my finish. The durability however after a month, was less than satisfactory. Keep in mind, my family also has a summer house and I stayed there a lot...so the salt air probably had something to do the lack of "tight pellet beading" like I expect from Zaino. The car did receive two washes in a month's time after it was sealed with Z2PRO/ZFX.

I just took the whole car down and re-freshed it using ZPC-Fusion on my cyclo. Finished kind of hazy so I put on white pads(used green with fusion) and hit it with PO85RD. Finished beautifully. IPA'd it about three times and it's ready for either Z5 or 2 pro. I'm hoping it stays "tighter" this time as this is the first time I'd had a problem with it weaking. Shine was good, just the water sat there and didn't bead very well.

I usually just throw on ZAIO so there are no surprises, but if I was doing Z2 after polishing, I'd rewash with a strong wash. Unless you go crazy with IPA, you can't be sure you got all the oils off. Zaino is picky about what it bonds too as well as moisture.

Hmm, I had a bottle of AIO and it flew off the shelf and broke all over the garage :/. I'll have to pick up another bottle. I went pretty kooky with IPA this time. It's raining now so the humidity is up but it's cool out. Hopefully this will bond better than last time. I put it on a little heavier than you're supposed to but that's ok.

Remember that thinner applications of Z2 are better. Don't use the cloth applicator they give you, use a foam one. It provides better, more even and thinner coverage.

Oops. Two coats with the cloth applicator and the second coat went on a little thinner. Letting it dry, will add the third coat and call it a day. Hoping this process will bond nicely. Thanks for the feedback.

The cloth applicator is now microfiber. Kinda funny how Sal poo-pooed MF and now sells it. Either is fine, I actually like MF applicators better for liquids as I find I use less. Foam is my favorite for pastes as it just seems to clog up the MF. I also like how Z5 looks, Z2 seems too bright for some colors.

Three coats are on there now. I used a different applicator with misting of Z6 in between. It is slick as can be and quite shiny. I think it is more "wet looking" than last month! Maybe I'll add a coat of clear seal this evening. :) Thanks again!
