i just got my new order form zaino today. i ordered the z1, z2 and z10 (leather in a bottle). the z 10 has got to be ther worst smelling product i've ever encountered. it smells like i filled my car with a thousand vinyl beach balls and left it there with the windows closed for a month! i mean this stuff smells BAD! i does soften the leather, which is what it's supposed to do, but the aftersmell smells nothing like leather. right now, i'm going to take a shower and see if i can get that terrible smell out of my skin and clothes! maybe someone could help me. how can i get this smell out of my car!!!
 
I've always heard great things about Z10, especially the smell. Leaving your windows open and maybe try some Febreeze on the fabric of the car.
 
Hmm, thats weird. I think Z10 smells fantastic and just like leather. Sometimes, I use it instead of Eucerin hand creme in the mornings! Haha, j/k.

Totally agree. The Zaino cleaner and leather conditioners are really nice products. Makes my Lexus and Z28 interiors smell like your leather.



Softening / conditioning takes time and routine care (application). One application is asking a little too much. :cool:
 
Seems like Leather in a Bottle elicits the same kind of passionate reactions as Z's polishes....most love it but some hate it. I remember AlBoston not liking it very much either.



As much as I like Z-2 & Z-5, I think Zaino Bros. other products are even better. Their shampoo, leather cleaner/conditioner, tire dressing, glass polish are all excellent products.
 
i too love the smell of Z10. hit kinda has a hent of a leather scent but i think it has more of a new car smell to it.



locutus, wait a day and the smell will really mellow down.
 
I, too, love Z-10 and it's smell.



Maybe you got a bad bottle.



(Or possibly, everyone has their own opinion on what does or doesn't smell good...:) )
 
thanks for the replies! three hours later, my car still smells like a beachball! i'll give it time. it can't get any worse. i love z1 and z2, but this z10 is making a quick trip to the garbage can!
 
I use Z10 and in my experiences it smells good and provides a nice even look to my interior. I have used Z10 since my car was new and people who have driven in my car have commented on how even and natural my seats, doors and dash feel and look. One time when I ran out of Z10 I used Meguiar’s Gold Class Leather Conditioner and did not care for the extreme shine and oily feel it left. Oh course this is my opinion but I love the way Z10 smells and the results it produces, but as others have mentioned everyone has a different opinion.
 
Out of all the leather products I have, Zaino Z10 smells the closest to leather!



It could be what may have been on the leather prior that you are getting a reaction which causes the smell of vinyl. It could be the leather type you have, most are now coated. I've had a reaction on a cleaner once... after I applied the dressing, it smelled really bad. Like burnt plastic.



Did you also detail the rest of the interior dash as well?



Sorry you are getting a bad smell from it. Contact SAL Zaino on this one, maybe he's run accross this before on a type of leather or product that reacts with it.

Z10 makes leather smell like leather. Pinnacle has a nicer smell but it is not a leathery smell.



I have used a few bottles of Z-10 and all were ok, call Zaino
 
yes! thanks for the advice! i believe i will contact zaino. i didn't mention, the leather seats on my mustang are like a two-tone gray. i've been cleaning them with a very mild woolite, and up 'till now, i haven't had any problems!

I totally agree, everyone's car I've use it in loves the smell :nixweiss

Another good one is Four Star Ultimate Leather Conditioner, it smells great too.
