Zaino equivalents in Duragloss lineup?

No, not asking about relabeling! :)

I've been a Zaino user for about 10 years now. But we just got a Carquest in town and I'm curious to try some of the Duragloss lineup and see how it compares.

For any who have experience with Duragloss, what would you say is the equivalent of ZAIO and Z2?

I'm just about out of Z2, but I still have a pretty good supply of ZAIO. Is it okay to use the Duragloss equivalent of Z2 over the ZAIO?

Thanks for the help!

Many have said Aquawax is similar to Z-8. I have never tried Z-8 but you can try Aquawax and see, it is pretty cheap.

Take your pick of the Duragloss products. They are a pretty good lineup-a step up from Meguiars. I find that Zaino has the edge on gloss, shine and durability though.

I can't tell a difference other than the smell, and that is based on side by side use.

I think I can! Both are very good, aquawax add more depth, Z8 more shine/clarity. :xyxthumbs

I tried Duragloss 501 and 111 this weekend. They performed (and smelled) very similar to ZAIO and Z2PRO, respectively.

Time will tell to see if they can match Zaino's durability. They sure do look good.

441=Z9 I can't tell a difference at all

221~Z10 Very similar, but the smell is a little different. I don't know which I prefer. Zaino claims to have UV block and 221 doesn't say anything about UV.

105~Z2 except 105 has some cleaning. I haven't used 111, so it may be even more similar.

AW~Z8 except for smell

I have 501 with 111 as a topper, that's been going strong for three months, on the top of my SUV.

I know (three months) is not really a big deal, but not many people go that long without throwing another coat on, or stripping products off and using something else.

This is also without using FC&S and QW.

I'll see how long this combo last. I'm thinking at least another two-three months.

Ive used Duragloss 101+105 combo and loved it. car looks really wet and slick with pretty stout durability.

Duragloss aquawax...just bought a gallon. nuff said.

Definatly worth trying their stuff...their whole lineup is easy on the wallet.

Prices for Duragloss are hard to beat. After having trying both line up, I can't tell much different except for smells. I would gauge

501 stronger cleaning compared to ZAIO

111 ~ Z2

105 ~ Z5

221 ~ Z10

AW ~ Z8

921 ~ Z6

601 ~ ZFX

441 ~ Z9

Swirl Remover ~ ZPC.

Many more similar line up except Z clear seal. I saw DG having Enviro-Shield in DB but can't find their thread again.

Thanks all for the great replies. Been a while since I've been on Autopia, so it's good to see some of the heavy hitters answering my post. Hope you've all been doing well.

Definitely appreciate the great information you've all shared. I'll be referring back to it when I head over to Carquest next time.

We'll see how it goes with the Duragloss. I've been really happy with Zaino, but it'll be nice to have something OTC with (hopefully) similar durability and appearance.

i find that DG501 is equivalent to Zaino AIO. I use the DG501 as an AIO.

As to the Aquawax similar to Z8, cant comment much as never used Z8. But Optimum Car Wax is similar to DG Aquawax. Well, they both smell of coconut anywayz.

I am impressed with Duragloss products, especially their wash soap and AW.

However, they need to update there product labels. Everything looks so old school.

Have to say, I agree with that, LQ9SS. For a very minimal marketing investment, I think they could see their sales increase quite a bit. Their labels look like they were made in the late 80's and the fonts look a little on the "cheese-tastic" side.

But I've previously tried their leather conditioner and Aquawax and can't argue with the results. Can't wait to try the sealants, quick detailer and rubber dressing to see how they stack up.

i think they like the fact that their products aren't easily available at your local AZ, pepboys, kragen, etc,.. with a little more marketing and updated ads/labels, i'm sure they would do very well (we know their products deliver), but i don't think they want to, or care to go that route, maybe they're happy the way things already are...

Weird, though... They're cheaper than comparable Meg's and Turtle Wax stuff, and in most cases better. You'd think they'd make a ton of money coming to AZ/Target/Walmart. Maybe they don't have the mfg capacity?
