Zaino Detail

I get a lot of customers who ask this same question and i tell them its 90% surface prep work with a good da or rotary and 10% lsp.. I also get this type of chit chat " from new zaino customers as they expect the polish and the steps to do it all for them and it simply cannot.

Hi,

If you are replying to my question, then perhaps I should explaing myself further.

I am now in the position of having received my PC7424 and various other items from Autopia, and now trying to decide on which shampoo, polish etc to buy.

Before finding the Autopia forum I was 99.9% decided on purchasing the Zaino range, then having read various posts I started to think about AIO/SG etc.

If the finish in the pictures has been achieved with a lot of hard work in prepping and correct application of the Zaino products then that will do for me, as I don't mind putting in the effort if long term I can achieve that level of finish on my Black Mini Cooper.

I have been using Zaino for about 4 years and I could not agree more. I got my PC about a month ago and the wifes 99 740 never looked so good.

I think it looks good as is but maybe you are seeing something the camera doesn't show. :nixweiss

I have a black car too, and while it looks really good when I use sealants on it (EX-P, UPP, Acrylic Jett) and I get a lot of compliments, I am not totally happy with the look. Sort of looks like I have wet glass on the car. Great for silver, pearls, etc but on black, I prefer really dark, deep, rich looking paint.

What you might want to try in the spring if that is the look you are after, do all your deep polishing steps, then use Vanilla Moose, Red Machine Glaze and Carnauba Moose, Natty's Blue or even Pinnacle Souveran. You will have to reapply the wax more often than you would Zaino to maintain the look though.

Peter-you would get answers if you would start your own thread instead of asking questions in someone else's thread.

Sorry.

I'm not referring to his first post, but the subsequent one where he states "thanks everyone for the positive comments, but I'm looking for something more deep and reflective like these"

You need to graduate to a rotary for your prep work.

The finish should look this deep "prior" to adding a protectant. If not, you are depending too much on the LSP to "make-up" what was not developed during prep to give you this look.

Shift your emphasis to prepping to the appearance you desire and choose your LSP to protect the hard work and minimal appearance enhancement.

You will be glad you did. :geez
