Zaino cleaner...when?

I thought it was supposed to be released at the end of May, last I heard. Damn. I guess I'll just go ahead and polish with the SSRs then.

I just called Zaino to find out a possiable release date and they are making up labels now and it'll be another 2-3weeks.
 
The last thing I need is another polish on my shelf, especially now that P085RD has arrived. Wonder if it will be worth having both.

You can do "pure" system details at last ! Menzerna, and now, Zaino....You bet your life it will be worth it, imagine, Zaino products building on each other in a planned, integrated manner. A "designer" detail !b Menzerna products up and down the process. ! Does Menzerna have a washing product? Hmmmm ... Z is more complete already !:bounce





I ordered my PO85RD Thursday ! I see the need for both in my arsenal.:xyxthumbs Actually I am super versatile at this point, I think I can meet most challenges with all the stuff I have, but my illness makes me try new stuff all the time;) Ordering a new Zaino product is a"must do" due to the systematic approach Zaino has designed into it 's product line. The new Z C/P is something that I really am anticipating to be really special.
 
While I am not at all brand loyal, I do have brands that I trust. So I'm also keen to try new products and processes. But if PO85RD provides a similar shine as the Zaino product and doesn't require a wash before applying Z2, then there isn't as much room for both to co-exist on my shelf. The Zaino product may be slightly more abrasive and thus there is a slight product differentiation.



I think it's okay to mix brands in your process if you can achieve better results. No reason I have to use only Zaino products, nor do I only have to use only Menzerna products. I pick the ones I like best!



In any case, it's nice to have choices! It's a luxury to pick so picky about our cars.
 
Maybe we should try both before commenting, just a thought. From what I've heard the Zaino product has a much lower cut than PO85RD, JFYI. Better to us on minor imperfections because it will remove less paint or CC. I also believe in using the best product as opposed to being brand loyal, but Zaino has really made some killer products lately, and until they make a dog, I will give them the benefit of any doubt. Menzerna same way, another class act that have made killer products lately.

I agree, to each his/her own ! I am quite happy about Zaino as a system.... But as you, I love to experiment. Since Z8, I have come to appreciate the systems approach of Zaino. IMHO, the sum of all the products equals more than I would think a single sealant can deliver. I have equal hopes concerning Menzerna. Menzerna is expanding their product range as well, with the Menzerna spray. Both are fine product lines.... As you can see, I am willing to pay for menzerna products, as well as Zaino system products....:xyxthumbs
 
I have tried both products (PO85RD, thanks Sal and gt1today :bow). They are both top notch products intended for the meticulous detailer that desires to remove those last little imperfects or just wants to keep the optics of the finish as "naturally brillant" as possible.

Both appear to be versatile and can be used with any LSP system.

Zaino C/P has a slight edge in it multiple means of application with hand application producing equivalent results as a PC. I found PO85RD's best results are only produced by rotary usage.



Do I see a need for both purchases in my hobbyist detailing arsenal - No. Since I love doing the final polishing by hand (when time permits), Zaino will be my routine cleansing/mild polishing product of choice.



I do plan to use both products, since I have some PO85RD, on my yearly Spring make-overs. Why?

Just for the fun of it. :D
 
Bob, I would state yes if all one is using is a finishing pad and paint is not in need of a good claying session (amazing how claying restores the natural hue of a finish by removing darkening impurities from the clear - most noticeable on light colored vehicles).

If this final session of polishing requires a more aggressive polishing pad and one is using this polishing pad to finish the job prior to applying LSP, I would say the PC is more efficient but the same goal can be reach by hand with a great deal more time and elbow grease.



I love the tactile feel of the C/P or any cleansing type product (i.e. P21S GEPC, VM, AIO, WG, UPP etc) for that matter, when the abrasives start to diminish and the surface resistance (gritty feel) decreases (smooths out) and the final gloss and slickness appears.



I prefer a 100% folded terry rag (ScottWax :xyxthumbs) or better yet the 100% terry cotton pads Zaino supplies with his orders (not very durable but ohhh so soft). A sponge (yellow) applicator will also work but they are too small IMO to create an even efficient constant contact (size) cleansing area.
 
Just used PO85RD for the first time and I'm quite impressed. Easy to work with as FPII, but a slightly better gloss. The surface feels slick, so I wonder if it did leave oils behind. Still feels squeeky however.



How does the Zaino stuff leave the surface in terms of feel? Wonder if it leaves behind any lubricating oils.



If Zaino has created something on par with PO85RD, then I will be impressed. But still not sure if I will get any. Maybe for fun. :)

OK, probably a VERY n00b question, but what will the Zaino process be like with the new cleaner? I've never used any sort of cleaner products and am only used to the Zaino process of dawn, clay, wash, Z2, etc. Where would it be added in there typical process, and what steps (if any) will be removed when using the new cleaner?



Also, after reading and reading, I'm still just pretty darned confused. So please forgive my n00bness. My truck is about two months old and was first Zaino'd a week after I got it. I'm simply looking for the best shine possible for it. Is the cleaner product just another step in the preperation for a high quality shine, or is it only necessary for prepping a car that has been neglected/older/etc? Basically, would it benefit to use the new cleaner on a brand new vehicle? I have absolutely no problem going the extra mile to achieve good results. Thanks to anyone that has the patience to put up with my quesitons! :confused:

You can eliminate the Dawn wash step to remove any oils on surface.

Example: Z7 wash, Menzerna IP for moderate marring, Zaino C/P to enhance gloss and slickness and remove any IP residual, Z5 , Z2-PRO then Z8.



New vehicles are normally only new to you. Check the production date. The vehicle is probably several months old and has been sitting somewhere outdoors for months. Yes, new vehicles need TLC to maximize the appearance qualities of the vehicle prior to adding protection. A claying session and a paint cleanser/mild polish like Zaino C/P (when available) will normally be suffice for a new vehicle.
