Zaino Clay vs. Clay Magic

Hi guys,

I've just been lurking around deciding what to order for spring details, and I cannot decide between Clay Magic Blue or Zaino Clay. I've used both, and I don't know which is milder and less likely to marr.



Any suggestions?

Silver add me to the list of fans of Sonus Green Clay. Extremely mild and works great.

Sonus green is nice if your not polishing and just need to do some light claying. However, if time is a priority and your polishing afterwards, something more aggressive is necessary.



Zaino clay is pretty mild, however, both Z clay and AM clay marr IME.
 
I've used the Z and Clay Magic. The CM seems stouter to me. I have noticed a little marring using it.
 
Ive used the Zaino yellow and a blue claymagic and the Zaino cay is DEFINITELY alot less more mild than the claymagic. Its also alot harder to work with (its consistency reminds me of a rubber eraser). Claymagic is much more easy to knead and twist.
 
o yea? interesting to know. I have seen a lot of people clay with sonus green and polish afterward. I guess the didnt get the memo

You can do what you want but if you have a lot of bonded contaminents then a more aggressive clay is suggested. If you are just doing a quick clay and light polish then sonus green would be the suggested clay. Using too mild of clay on a heavily contaminated surface that needs alot of corrective work any way is a waste of time. The clay may marr the surface some but the marring will be removed with the corrective work. Understand?

I love the Sonus Green Clay, but on my soft clearcoat it always leaves some marring, so I never use it if I am not going to polish later. When I do use it, the marring is very mild and it only takes a mild polishing to fix it (such as with Ultima Paint Prep Plus with the gray pad and the UDM at speed 5).
 
I'm no expert, but I used to use the Zaino red clay and almost always got a little bit of marring from it. I tried Clay Magic blue clay last weekend, and it worked a lot better for me. I didn't notice any marring from it. My technique may have improved since the last time I used the Zaino clay, though.



Still, I was impressed enough with the Clay Magic that I'll buy it again when I use up this bar.

They claim that Z-18 isn't abrasive but I thought all clay has was abrasive to different degrees. I guess Z-18 is different from the rest?

I am guessing thats sarcasm, lol, but zaino clay is the same as the rest.

I just used it voer the weekend and it definitely did marr and swirl up my moms jeep. Luckily i had the time to polish everything out.
 
ive only used clay magic.. i always get marring no matter how i do it. but i only clay when i need to polish so it gets taken out easily. however i would not use it if you don't plan on polishing afterwards. but not polishing afterwards is like polishing without waxing-whats the point.
 
When I use the Zaino clay it's a bit softer and breaks easier.



I can't find Clay Magic any where. It used to be $10 @ Wal-Mart, but they don't sell it anymore.
