Nothing wrong with playing it safe. I go to the extreme and never drive several of my vehicles in any type of bad weather. Even I must state that this is a little too extreme.

Similiar to fearing a single pre-application Dawn wash at the same time allowing ones vehicle to take a acid rain bath several times a month.
You may want to read your referenced thread a little closer. No valid reason was ever presented that demonized Dawn or similiar products for their creating/causing problems with infrequent use. Zaino is probably the only protectant company that recommends this one-time Dawn wash for several reasons:
The uniquenesss of this product requires a uniquely clean surface for maximum performance.
Zaino's honesty in terms of not max'ing profits by selling a pre-cleaner car wash with the same properties as Dawn.
Zaino's faith that most people can read directions. One time use.
I still find it very amazing, I own / purchased (except pre-production products (many suppliers) and use many type of vehicle protectants. Why so many - for the fun of it.
This is the only product that exposes and brings out critics, not of the product but ancillary items that have nothing to do with the performance or appearance of the product. Some may not like the clarity and inability to hide prepping shortfalls. Valid reasons why not to prefer this LSP.
I guess the most recent criticism is good "personal" Customer Service. There has to be something evil about the ability to talk directly with the company's owner, product formulator and experience auto paint user.
Quite strange. :nixweiss
Addendum: I agree with RedCarGuy with his analysis about the present atmosphere here. Zaino is not the only product that brings out negatives. Other examples are NXT and Zymol. Both fine products that somehow cause people to sling crap. Why?
We use to be able to discuss, dissect the hype, solve problems with usage and move on. What is quite disturbing are rude and crude statements with the only seemingly intent is to stir the pot. Several are from members who have just joined within the last month. I wish the moderators would note these off-the-wall non-contributing statements and counsel them about the once great etiquette we had here at Autopia. JMHO
