Z8 questions

1) Anyone have lucking using it on top of non-Zaino products, specifically AJ/AJT?

2) Does it have good durability?

3) Is it worth the money? $20 plus shipping is pretty steep for 16oz of QD

IMO, Z8 is well worth the price. I've had much success using Z8 over acrylic sealants. ( AJ-FS/MS) However, if you're looking for a great value, checkout Duragloss Aquawax. I use both Z8 & AW as "enhancer" products so to speak, not so much for durability.

AW is very good. Z8 is NOT a QD. It is a spray sealant with decent durability. In comparing AW to Z8 I'd say Z8 has better clarity. Also Z8 is very concentrated and can be watered down some. Z8 isn't as expensive as it seems because it takes very little to do a car.

Z8 is one of the products that have exceeded my expectations and met the hype. I have used it only on top of the Zaino sealants so I can't comment on compatibility or durability. It adds quite a bit of wetness and slickness while maintaining clarity (and that's difficult to do when you consider it's on top of Z2Pro). I don't think its price is high since it's not a QD...I feel it's closer to the "spray sealant" term such as UPPS or DP SSS - and these cost about the same price.

I have purchased a gallon of AW - I'm hoping that it can replace Z8 in my arsenal since it can be had at a extremely nice price, but I'm not banking on it.

Does AW rival Z8 in looks?

I picked up some AW after hesitating for a while (I usually shy away from the latest trend), but I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed. The look is very similar to Z8, except in my opinion a little less gloss traded off for a little more depth. I actually like it better than Z8, especially since it goes on so easily. Z8 smells a lot nicer though at least - AW has a very generic megs gold class type of scent ;).

I am unable to answer number one. With number two, I use it to freshen up my zaino maybe every month, and it boosts slickness through the roof, and seems to add durability; however, I have never tried it stand alone, so I am unable to comment on it in that sense. Per number three, is it worth the price? Because you will only use 1 spray per panel, or what i do is 1 spray per 2-3 panels, it will go a LONG way, thus allowing your bottle to last a very long time.

The only problem I have with Z8 is the price.....As far as performance, it's very good as a final application. Better than Z6....

In fact, I wish more Zaino products would be available at a discount from time to time...

Sometimes it's good to give back and introduce new customers to product lines with starter kits and specials.....That said, it's not my company and they are successful for a reason.....

I pour Z8 into a 2oz sprayer. You can cut it 4:1 with no problems. 1 mist per panel, 2 on the hood & roof is about all it takes.

Don't mistake Z8 for a QD. It's not intended to clean off lightly dusted paint, etc... It's a booster product, and has incredible slickness and gloss. 1 bottle of it will last you A LONG time. It works well on just about every external surface, except you tires. Z8 durability is at or above any carnauba product that I've ever used.

I've had the best luck with Z8 (and QD's) using a soft, absorbant WW towel. The mint green COBRA guzzler is my towel of choice.

-Good luck.

First of all I loved Z8 from the Beta samples I tested to the present evolution.

Z8 is a spray sealant and can be activated with a drop of ZFX for instant curing (1drop in 2 oz) if desired but not at all necessary. This product should be use sparingly. A couple of mist from a misting 2 oz dispenser will last literally weeks on my Z06. 16oz dispensed in this manner will last at least 6 months with usage being 1-2x/week.:up

NHBFAN, I personally would not use Z8 on other LSP's and expect optimal performance (durability). Even though Z8 is a spray sealant, it is formulated to work with the Zaino sealants. No guarantee that either excellent results of abysmal results (durability) when stepping out of the Zaino box. :nixweiss

With that stated, I have topped other sealants (testing the favors of the month) and receive good results in term of appearance. Z8 created a more warm but clear appearance and took some of the edge (sterile look) of some of my test sealants (please don't ask which ones).

Finally, does AW produce the same final appearance as Z8. No. Both produce excellent results and owe these results via different vehicles for shine enhancement. I will leave it at that.

I have used Z8 over many products with no problems at all. I also find it very durable for the type of product it is. I should probaly mention that is is specially formulated for use over Zaino so results are not guarenteed if you sway from this practice.

After reading all of the info. here regarding Duragloss Aquawax I decided to try it.

I use Z-5 and Z-2 Pro for my sealants, but I was having problems with Z-8 streaking on dark colors in the Florida heat.

I stopped using Z-2 Pro on my dark color paints because I felt I was losing too much depth for the look that I enjoy on my vehicles.

I stayed with Z-5 and Z-2 on light colors and switched to using only Z-5 on dark colors.

When I use to top Z-5 with Z-8 I felt I was losing the look I preferred from Z-5, just like when topping Z-5 with Z-2.

I love the look of AW as a LSP and I don’t have the same “finicky, hot, humid weather streaking problems as I did withZ-8, a little AW also goes a long way, and I get more product for my money.

16oz Z-8 = $20.00 = $1.25 an Ounce.

22oz AW = $6.00 = .27 an Ounce.

:secret IMO Z-8 would have to be about 5x better than AW to make it “worth my money.

If you really want to try Z-8….PM me about one of the two bottles I have.

My first Z8 purchase was off of a member of another forum 15 months ago, the bottle was about 3/4 full. I use it on my cars an avg of 2 times a month, plus have used it on the 25 or so cars I have detailed. It has very little left in the bottle.
