However, as I understand it, Zaino doesn't offer free products for review to any Joe Detailer; rather, beta-testers are involved with the company long-term. Tort

I could be wrong, but I would say that most companies are this way, no?

Beats me. The only beta testing I ever did was for RDF-49, and other than the two rounds of beta products received (long before Ultima's initial release), that was it. AFAIK, there's no continuing Ultima beta-tester program. Unsure about Meg's. Zaino seems to stick with the same testers over much longer periods, and there's nothing wrong with that at all; it makes sense to find a group of enthusiasts who give good feedback, and keep them involved.

BTW, the snarkiness in your signature has not gone unnoticed. I think we both know that I'm not talking about getting an extra pad in a shipment. If you received a product from a vendor or manufacturer to review for free, just make note of it when you post your review. If you're part of an organized, ongoing test program, please note it in your signature. I don't think that's a great deal to ask from anyone who isn't actively trying to hide the relationship.

Based on the poll that started this thread, Z8 is dominating.I would agree. While I said I wanted to give CS a fair chance in long term testing, at this point I have already made up my mind and will be sticking with Z2/Z5 and Z8. To me, Z8 is the better value and quite frankly in my opinion a better product and an easier product to work with.

Hey Tort, I totally agree that there needs to be clarification. Honestly, I think its important to know where opinions are comming from and totally agree with Autopia's stance. I stay out of the loop regarding beta testing on purpose.

Regarding my sig, I'm just having fun with the situation, its my personality to poke fun at everything (which will probably lead to my divorice). No harm or "snarkiness" meant. If you want, I would be more than willing to erase it.

Initially, I was very unimpressed with Z-CS. It just didn't blow me away like I expected it to based on what I read on here. With the first application. I was kinda "meh" towards CS even topped with Z8. This was on top of IP/Z-PC/ZAIO/Z5/Z6.

I did a 2nd application over the Labor Day holiday along with a coat of Z5. The 2nd coat seemed to make a difference. The car has a really nice glow to it now with the 2nd coat of CS,but the Z8 just adds another dimension to the look.

I've definitely noticed that CS does not bead as well as Z5 or Z2. Even topped with Z8, the beading is not as good. My wife's car sits outside all the time, and my car is garaged. I put a coat of Z5 on her car in June, and the beading is better on her car than mine. I've used Z8 probably twice a month on her car since then.

Z8 is the real deal! I like CS, and I will probably continue to use it. I couldn't stand to be without Z8,but I don't feel that strongly towards CS

I've been using ZCS (2x) as the base layers, then topping it with Z-2 or Z-5 w/ ZFX and then Z-8. Since ZCS is what it's name implies, a 'clear' sealant, I figure that ZCS as the base is like adding a little extra clear coat. The Z-2 and Z-5 are for the better looks, better beading and better slickness. Z8 is the maintenance topper.

I'm new since about a year to the detailing world, but I've used meguiars, now Use Jeffs Werkstatt acrylic, and recently also ordered Z-CS.

My car has the full Jeffs Acrylic system on it, many coats, of which several polycharged, and I have a nice look, and nice beading too..

Recently did my GF Eos and did it the same way as mine, but topped it off with one coat of Z-CS. Look GREAT, much warmer, the paint was also in great shape, but so was mine when I did the Jeffs about 3 months ago. The Z-CS really gave it that finishing look for me, will be topping it on mine sometime next week or so...

Question: Can I stil use Jeffs Acrylic Jett when I top mine off with Z-CS or can't I layer it anymore then? Otherwise I will do a couple layers off Jeffs and then afterwards the Z-CS for extra winter protection...

P.s. Will be looking into a UDM soon :)

I have had good results on white and great results on silver paint using ZCS as the base layer then adding 2-3 coats of AJT. I think you should be okay topping ZCS with AJT as long as you are giving the ZCS ample time to cure first

Z-CS to me was a waste of money IMO. I am with Scott and Setec on this one. I put it on and was like "OK", is there supposed to be something exciting that is to happen. To make a long story short I am sticking with Z-8. Maybe I will sell my Z-CS, or give it a shot on another car. I believe everything deserves a second chance. I just don't expect much else to happen though.
