I think I had an 84-85 626 that went 180k before I sold it.

You could always buy my beater. :idea

My brother had an '87 GT (turbo) that had 215,000 on the original engine, tranny and turbo when he sold it. Sadly, once Ford got involved with Mazda, quality went down. I've put nearly $1500 into my 626 since late May. :(

In my case, I have been using / beta-testing CS the last ~2 years of its development.

2 years of development and it has already been tweaked a couple of times (according to the other thread) since the February release?

ZAIO, Z5 and Z8 suit my purposes well enough I don't need to add a 4th product anyway.

Yeah, I guess testing wasn't done on "Davetopia" as some have referred to it.:nixweiss

All Zaino products will be continually advanced. That's the beauty of the Z system and product line. This is the only way to remain the product most compare themselves with (benchmark).

Is there an end-point to improving any product? No, if you are innovative and desire to give your client base the best.:hifive:

I would be quite sadden if Ultima and Optimum cease to advance (tweak) their product lines. Competition is good. Especially for the end-users.

Edwin, I though it appropriate to post right under you as this post will make us even at 5,533 posts.:D

Hi Chris,

You are a special member.;)

You got credit for 2 posts.

I believe we are now even.

Great time to be interested and doing detailing!! There are some great products out there!!

Why wouldn't Sal want to tweak his products on a regular basis? Isn't constant innovation the best way to maintain ones reputation? It isn't like he producing the volume of a huge operation like Megs or GC. Even megs updates some of their product line occasionally. NXT due to VOC regs, #2, GC ect?

It would be better if Sal can makes something with Z-CS that looks like you've topped it with Z-8. Now I'd spend money on that!

I really don't see tweeking products as a big deal. Almost all consumable items are tweeked in one way or another, from toilet paper, laundry detergent, paper plates and the list goes on and on and on. Thats one reason I did not order CS when it first hit the market. I just recv'd my first batch last week. Tho early in my testing, I would venture to say it will not replace z2 or z5 for my needs. Will it be a staple in my arsenal? Hard to say at this point. To early to tell. Ill make that decision after about 6 months of testing or when the bottle runs out.

So, you're receiving free product, both beta and release versions, and you're posting favorable reviews of these products? There's a name for that 'round these parts.

Maybe it's time that members who are part of the ongoing Zaino beta-test program start self-identifying in their signatures. That's not directed just at you blkZ28 . . . I know there are other Z beta-testers that have posted in this thread. Forum members who read reviews coming from Zaino testers deserve to know that there's a relationship between the poster and Zaino.

IMO, that should go for all beta testers that post, however, a particularly salient issue among zaino posts. I would like to know if someone beta tested when reading reviews, comments, advice, recc's, whether it Megs, Optimum, Zaino, Ultima, etc.

We've asked for quite a while that members who are testing products received for free identify it in their review. You might recall some past unpleasantness with both Meg's and AutoGeek freebies.

However, as I understand it, Zaino doesn't offer free products for review to any Joe Detailer; rather, beta-testers are involved with the company long-term. I'm asking that forum members who are involved with the Zaino beta-test program either self-identify in their signature, or mention it whenever reviewing or commenting on a Zaino product they didn't have to pay for.

Interesting thread... and yet so familiar :)

Anyway, my experience with CS is that it didn't really improve the look of my car. It was, as advertised, very easy to apply wipe on and leave. But I didn't notice any improvement.

Z8 on the other hand is wonderful. Love it... love it... looove it.

I still have a full bottle of CS sitting in my garage. I've used it a couple times on my wheels but still see no improvement in feel or look.

On the other hand I've gone through a couple bottles of Z8 since it came out :)

My thinking is always to try something out myself. See what "I" think about it. But if you don't want to go that route, it seems to me like the majority opinion is Z8 is good and CS, while some like it... others aren't impressed so take that for what it's worth.

I've always been upfront about where I get products. I've done testing for a lot of companies and I make no secret of it.

Not a problem Tort. I thought it was public knowledge that I am fortunate enough and have the facilities (lab) to test some products. :xyxthumbs

It's only public knowledge to those who have been around awhile . . . a new member wouldn't know one way or the other.

Thanks for adding it to your signature,
