Z8 and Z2-Pro is making me lazy

All I can say is when I get the fix, I can do a lot…… but what puts a smile on my face is when I drive down the freeway after work and people can't stop watching my car, even more when I get stopped and please ask my how, How the (*&^ did you get that car to shine like that. I tell you what guys when I have a fix. I go wit Chemical Guys Butter wet wax, one step and a very nice shine. When the fix gets real bad I reach for the XXX Hard Core Paste Wax, Sure to put a smile on any car lovers face.

when someone asks you what you've used to detail your car you know your using good products :xyxthumbs and you've done good prep. in the end that's all that matters.

Did you not like Natty's Blue?

Hi Justin, :wavey

I have not tried Natty's Blue. Nothing against Natty's but after years of product testing, I have come to the conclusion that any additional shine, gloss, depth, etc in a carnauba mixture (product) is not from the carnuaba but from appearance feature enhancers. Be they exotic oils, bee's wax, silicone or synthetic waxes, the protective element is the same - carnuaba. These enhancers have a very short lifespan in the real world (weather).

After discovering the true essences of elite detailing is mostly the PREP stages and that I prefer not to continue to constantly enhance shine with these appearance enhancing elements (QD'ing), I prefer sealants. In my case the new / improved line of Zaino products.

cwcad,

Because of Sal and Zaino I was "forced" to improve my prepping technique. My vehicles, wife and I thank Autopia, its members, DavidB and Sal for this. I love a product that does not allow any shortcuts and delivers when time is place into a project. In my case the journey to the prefect shine is the enjoyment or main course. :buffing:

The outcome is just the goumet coffee and good conversations (compliments) after the meal.

As always, you have a way with words. I agree that Autopia, Zaino, and especially the members of Autopia have enhanced my techniques in detailing. The comments and pictures, from those that i aspire to emulate, have enhanced my detailing pleasure but it has also added to the work load. Most times, now...... I complete the detail yet each time I know that I can do better. Is that not the Autopian standard? :)

Exactly Cwcad!!!! :xyxthumbs

The perfect shine is a moving target. Once you think you have it zeroed in, the target moves a little further downrange requiring re-focussing (technique change) and sometimes trajectory adjustments (product(s)).

That is why, though fun, detailing can be :hairpull.

The rewards during this mission and its constant adjustments can be also sooooo rewarding. :woohoo:
