Z5/ZFX - what is the point of diminishing returns?

Currently I have 6 coats of Z2/ZFX on a new car with dark green paint.

Please respond with your opinion on the point of diminishing returns in regard to looks with additional coats?

I think that once you get about 5 coats on you've hit maximum shine. That said, I could tell a difference if I freshen up with a couple of coats each month. So, IMO maximum shine = approx. 5 coats. Maintaining maximum shine = a couple coats a month (hey, why not?).

I agree that any more than about 5-8 coats of Z2/Z5 provides dimishing returns.

I "summerized" my car between April and May by

applying about 8 coats of Z2/Z5.

Since May, I have been washing my car with Z7, using Z6 as a follow-up. I plan not to polish again until I "winterize" my car in October. The Z7/Z6 approach works great.:)

Spacing zaino coats out is the best way to go. Zaino shine seems to improve with time initially after the first few washes. I would apply a coat each week till you were happy with the shine, and then let it ride a few months and just wash weekly with Z7 and Z6. You will be amazed how long that shine lasts, and every few months add another coat!

This is the exact method I use, works well. Even though I have ZFX I rarely find myself doing more than 1 coat a day.
