Z-AIO Questions

All,



I've never used any AIO type product before but am considering getting some Z-AIO. I have a few questions before I place an order.



1. Will Z-AIO remove minor water spots?

2. Does Z-AIO have to be broken down like a polish?

3. If it does have to breakdown, does it have any visual clues like a polish does? Meaning what does it look like broken down?

4. Do I have to worry about Z-AIO causing scratches if not worked enough?

5. If it doesn't have to be broken down how long are you working the product? The Zaino website simply states to: "Work Z-AIO into the surface, one section at a time, using firm motions, completing entire vehicle. Allow to dry."



I'm also not stuck on getting my AIO product from Zaino. I'd be interested in hearing your recommendations for other similar products along with why you prefer it over others amd answers to the above questions. I will be using Zaino Z-2 and Z-5 so any AIO recommendations must be compatible with them. JW Prime is another I've considered.

ZAIO can be applied by ahnd so whatever abrasives are there break down quite easily. It works well by PC on 5 with a Megs yellow pad. ZAIO is a nice base for other Z sealants.
 
I used it yesterday with an Orange LC pad and it caused hazing (well, the pad caused the hazing.)



Removed the hazing by using it with a White LC pad. Other than minimizing existing water spots, in my experience it doesn't do much in the way of paint correction. If you're looking to remove swirls, look elsewhere. If you're looking for a paint cleaner and a great preproduct for other sealants ZAIO gets a big thumbs up from me. Easy to use, smells good, and looks good. Kind of expensive though.
 
Mike, I like ZAIO so much that even if I am using ZFX, I still use ZAIO. From my white acura to the black Z06 I detailed this w/e. I really like what ZAIO does to paint. I have used prime and prime strong in the past and neither one is close. I usually apply it with a white LC pad/PC6. I work ZAIO till it just about disappears into the paint on the entire car, then it wipes off so easy. I have also used it by hand, where it also goes on/off very easy. You use so little, 3-4 small drops on your pad will do a nice size area.
 
zaio does some minor correction and melts into the paint and there is hardly anything to wipe off and no white residue at all. I go over the molding too. The more I use it the more I love it. On dark colored cars that I fully prep I go over the the car to remove any residue oils as a last coat and it will darken the paint too and give it a nice deep glow before I z5. ZAIO is one of the easiest products I have used and just to think I almost didn't buy. Glad I did!

Pinnacle XMT 360

Clearkote Vanilla moose

These I all preferred over the ZAIO, but that is a preference thing.

Mike, If you're planning to use Z2 and Z5 you'll see the best results by staying within the Zaino system. ZAIO is a great, easy to use AIO product, and filled the void in my cabinet when Klasse changed their AIO product (which used to be my #1 choice).



Here's a shot of ZAIO topped with CS -all done by hand.

ZAIO isnt necessary however to use Z products. I use Jeff Werkstatts Prime Strong as a base for Z when I use it.



If you want to purchase some Klasse AIO shoot me a PM, I have a 32oz jug that I am never going to use. I just bought it because it was right before they changed formulas to be VOC compliant.

That sterile finish is BEGGING for a carnauba... Look at it, its black, it just screams "please top me with carnauba!"...



Dont get me wrong, you did a great job with prep to get it that reflective, but now its time to add some depth and wetness.

WOW, you read my mind completely...Top that with NB or P21S and you will be blown away.
 
I think those 2 comments were kinda rude, especially after all the hard work Bryan put into the car. Josh you have negative comments all the time and my friend that was a member here is no longer on this forum cause of you and I am very upset to be honest. Also everytime zaino is mentioned you always throw a negative remark in and try bashing it. I am getting offended myself personally cause all the hard prep work I do and most of the time I top with zaino with beyond amazing results.



I think this is a great place and tons of nice people that I have become very good friends with. I hope this site stays this way and no one can ruin it. I am not the only person who sees this neither!



Can't we all just get along and play well. I am sure you are a nice guy deep down inside, just try to respect other peoples opinions please.

No kidding, I thought the Vette looked great and very well polished out.
 
Ryan, Don't worry about Joshtpa, his opinion means nothing to me. Zaino hater from day one. I am sure most members here can see thru his BS.

Adding Z5pro, CS and Z8 really made the car look horrible. I mean look at the lack of depth and wetness. :chuckle:

RIGHT...A Zaino hater that has some as you can see from my setup, as well as just recommended 9 products all Zaino to someone else...All I did was agree with Ron, why dont you jump on him.
 
I know Bryan, but it ruins the purpose of a good thread and someone trying to find some knowledge in learning.



Here is a picture of my prep work topped with ZAIO, Z5, and CS. Looked much darker and deeper in person though. Actually to be honest in person it was quite rather insane looking. I also got a handfull of jobs off of it while taking pics.:cool:

I have to respectfully disagree. I think Prime (haven't used the Strong version) and Z-AIO both do an excellent job lightly cleaning the paint and laying down a solid sealant base. I'd say they are extremely close, performance-wise. The difference to me is more visual than anything else. Prime leaves a more clear, wet, tradional sealant look while Z-AIO has a deeper, almost carnauba look. I've been using Prime on lighter colors and Z-AIO on darker colors. I don't find that one is even slightly better than the other, just a little different in equally good ways.



Just FYI, I have no doubt the Corvette you did looks amazing because I have been very happy with Z-AIO/Z5 on black but the background overexposure (post #16) makes the paint look plasticky...I don't mean that as an insult because I have been having the same problems with my camera. Not much you can do but that picture really doesn't do your work the justice it deserves. Some of the others though, were just draw-dropping beautiful!
