Z-10 Leather Cond.

I'm going to order some Z-10 leather Cond from Zaino for my new H2. I haven't used this product yet but hear extremly good things about it. I was wondering how long a bottle will last detailing just the H2 and using it probably every other month, I guess?

Should I order more than one bottle?

I use Z-10 on my crew cab Sierra and on a lot of my "high end" details. Like all Zaino products a little goes an awful long way. Once your applicator is primed no more than a nickle or dime sized dab is needed to do a full size seat.

By the way...the scent is to die for. :bigups It's so addictive that you may want to order a second bottle just for that!

I usually buy 2 bottles of z10 and one of z9 when I buy leather treatments. It's too much with shipping to buy one, and they seam to last foreverish so why not? This order should last 3 plus years.

I was able to pick up this and Z16 in person in the Howell, NJ store before I moved. I've used the Z10 on my older car for its conditioning qualities and for that leather aroma,. I do not use it in my newer car as I wish to preserve its OE scent which remarkably, I can still smell traces of, over 2 years since its manufacture.

I've had a bottle for a year and I probably have 6 months left. I use it roughly every 3 months. It's a terrific product. I also like the 4 Star and Pinnacle cleaners but not as much as Z-10. The smell is very good.

Very economical product. A bottle last a very long time. I treat my 3 driven vehicles (LS400, Escalade and Z28) with it every 2-3 month (one each month) and a bottle seems to last 1.5 - 2 years. Just finish my first bottle which was about 2.5 years old. Just as fresh as the day I opened it. No lanolin (cow fat bi-product) to turn rancid!!!!! :xyxthumbs

Purchasing more than one item is always the most cost effective manner with a fixed shipping rate. So if you order 2 you will have no worry about shelf-life of either Z9 or Z10. :dance

The aroma can not be beat IMO  and more importantly, the preservation of the leather is excellent.

z10 is very much liked by people whose cars I have done, they love it, they love the smell of it. Personally, I prefer the 'natural' smell of leather and so prefer to use Megs gold class leather care, or BMW's own leather cream, as these products simply rely on the leather itself to give off the odour. If you want to impress your clients then it is a superb product, I found that it didn't go very far at all, I probably used far too much but I found that maybe I did 5 vehicles with the whole bottle.

Nah, the Zaino product reminds me of the scent they have in a leather goods store. The scent in cars, at least in mine, can be a bit different AFAIK. The Zaino scent is more reminiscent of a leather coat to me.

Is that why the old bottle of Lexol I found in the closet seemed to have stuff floating in it? It seemed to work ok, despite that.

Bill--as far as aroma...IIRC, Audi is at the forefront of "engineering" the smell of car cockpits...there was an article about it a couple of years ago in C/D.

Awesome stuff, I actually use it weekly. A little really does go a long way. I find that Lexol gets a little sticky.

I am not sure of the floaties but lanolin will rancid over time. Normally not a problem when used on modern clearcoated automotive leather (tends to rub off by vehicle usage). That is why products with this "attractive sounding" additive tend to smell bad not when used up quickly, not stored in a cool place or when purchasing an old bottle from a store or vendor.

This is a chemical property of all solid fats.

I was at a car show a few years ago and walked past a Bullitt Mustang, and knew that Zaino leather smell. I stopped to talk with the owner about Mustangs and the like. During our conversation, I aslked him how he liked the Zaino leather in a bottle. He got out of his chair...opened the car door and lifted a sock from under the seat. He treats the seats with the Zaino LIB, but also puts some in this sock to leave under the seat just for the scent!

I am another person that likes the finish but not the smell. For this reason I am alternating between that and 1Z Leathercare.

The smell can be overpowering at times but I use very little of it and air out my car afterward. MY reward, when people step itno my car they are like how long have you had this car? Still has new car smell (haha starsky and hutch, c'mon, due it, new car smell!)

An H2 will have lots of surfaces to treat so I would get 2 bottles to save on shipping since you may use it more often that I do. Even with treating my sneakers often (haha yeah nice smell to have follow you around too!) I barely knicked my supply of Z-9/Z-10. If I ever run out, my Z distributer is only a short drive away (think less than 15 minutes.)

A good offense is a good defense too. I do not let people eat in my car, let alone have an open drink. No coffee cups in my cupholder, just my phone and flashlight. I keep gallon sized zip-loc bags in the car in case the family wants some KFC, so I just take the food and put them into the bags for safe, effective, greatly reduced smell transport. Also good when someone wants to get sick by my driving (you never know, but everyone that seems to be riding in my car falls asleep by the boringness of it.)

So it may put you in a trance, but currently Z8 owns my nose....

I applied the Z-10 for the first time today on my 1 month old leather interior. All I can say is ...WOW!!!! This stuff rocks!! It went on very easy. I made sure I applied it evenly and coated all of the leather surfaces. It darked the leather and gave it a nice rich look. The smell to me wasn't over powering at all. it smelled great, like a new leather jacket. The new leather upholstry was already showing som signs of getting that smooth vinyl like look. I guess from body oils , the sun and regular use. The Z-10 brought it back to better than new. I used a microfiber applicator which worked very good. Z-10 is a deffinet keeper and will use it regularly to keep the interior like new.

When I was all done I grabbed the applicator and wippped down my leather chair in my home office, That came out great too. it deffinently leaves something behind, you know exactly where you applied it . Great stuff in my book!
