HAVE to spend on a new detail shop-its the rule;how would you set it up?
Mine:
I am thinking it would be about 100x60 so I could get very large vehicles inside, the ceiling would be high enough to accomdate a 14' door, well maybe doors.
The construction would be block/steel with a clear span inside of course-the roof would have alot of skylights for natural lighting.
Inside:
A dedicated wash area of course, with floor drains and grease traps.
I am thinking that there would be four 'bays' each with its own lift-getting on in years I have to think of the ole back, my thought is that being able to lift the car to various heights would make things real nice.
Of course the hvac system would be state of the art full hepa air filtration. I would not go with a ground source system but rather conventional mechanicals BUT the building would be powered by fuel cells-what the hey.
I would have the Canadian boys come down and put in one of the hanger epoxy floors, though it would not be pure white-a slightly darker color to hide the tire marks-then again since I would also have a ride on floor scrubber, with down pressure of course, maybe it would be nice to go pure artic white..
There would be an industrial washer and dryer along with a full kitchen, bath AND a very large lcd, like the ones you see at stadiums-have to watch the training cds
- probably would locate this across the rear wall...
To guard against dehydration, and to keep scurvy at bay there would be taps at strategic locations throughout the building.
There would be no trees on or near the property and of course the parking lot would be paved, no make that stamped concrete-perhaps a nice bronze color...
I believe that about covers things.
Forgot, there would be lots of grass (the entire site would encompass about 10 acres) and of course there would be a detached maint 'shed' for all the Kubota equipment. AND we can't forget the irrigation system and six deep wells with conditioning systems if needed-ain't no one gonna tell us when we can use water!!
