Your thoughts on Meg's #26 Yellow Wax

Don't tell me to not get it, I already have it.

I've never used it, but will it give me a decent shine after SSR2.5 and SSR1? Longetivity isn't a big factor with me, as my car gets more than enough wax. Just wondering what kind of look I can expect. I know it's not the best, but it's what I've got.

It was one of the first products that I used on my black truck several years ago. Stopped using it for one reason. STAINS TRIM.

The look was not bad. Nor was the durability. I used it with a PC and got my trim all stained up. I did not tape up the trim and did not know that it would stain. I was an uneducated detailer that did all the wrong things when I first started. I would guess if I did it now I would not have the trims stains that I had the first few times that I used it.

I use it every now and then on mine and my customer's vehicles. I really like it. Goes on and off easy, an excellent wet shine, and smells good. I'm not sure about durability since I mainly use this wax for customer's who get the quick one step wax service, and I'm constantly waxing my own vehicle (trying new products and because I'm a OCD). :D

It's good to hear I didn't buy a total waste.

I'm waiting for my next paycheck to get some PB's PwC. And will probably use #26 over that. Haha.

I used to have a jar, I dont remember what I did with it though? It was a very warm wax. At times it looked like the car was glowing. ENJOY!

I haven't used the liquid version, but agree with GregCavi's description of how #26 (paste specifically) leaves a vehicle, glowing. It does mute the metallic flake, but doens't completely mask it. As far as trim staining, I can't say. As others have noted it is pretty easy on application and removal, though not the easiest. Overall I would definitely not charactrize it as a waste of money.

it's a great wax, it beads A LOT, i'd prefer that i beaded less but w/e.
i tape off all trim before i polish so a wax that stains trim isn't a big deal

Thanks for the reassurance in my purchase, fellas.

Mr.Clean/GregCavi - Expand on this "glowing" effect, and "muting" the flake. One sounds good, the other sounds bad. I just hope it looks good.

LOL One thing we as detailers don't do well (IMO, of course) is accurately describe appearance. Perhaps we are just limited by the English language :) "Glowing" however is the best adjective I can conjure up to describe the appearance #26 imparts to a finish. This is most apparent in early morning and early evening light conditions.

As far as metallic flake muting, it does, no getting around it. I first tested it on my pewter metallic Volvo 850. Flake is still visible, it just isn't as pronounced as when using other sealants/waxes.

One of my all time favorite's ! It is a polymer/carnuba blend so can't really compare to Natty's wax. While your ordering PwC order a can of Natty blue. It's well worth it !

Last fall I put Mothers FX on my explorer and didn't like the look.
It is a dark red kinda wine color and I topped it with Meg.# 26 it looked a little darker with a good shine. For a OTC product I think it is pretty good but it didn't last very long.
I put the FX on my black ranger and topped it with # 26 after I seen how much better my explorer looked but on the black it didn't seem to make much difference.

I've been using #26 paste wax for a couple years now....

I primarily use it these days for customers who are looking for a discount or for those who don't want to pay for a sealant.

Produces a nice wet looking paint on these black and red. I've used it on just about every color and was not impressed except on a Friend's Silver 2003 Cobra. He swears by it

Durability? I've gotten a few months out of it on my daily driver which sits outside 24-7.... Starts loosing it's pop after a couple good rains.

The ultimate combo I have used it M21 topped with #26. Real sharp looking. Used NXT topped with #26 as well.... But I have been dissapointed with NXT overall.

#26 paste over NXT (I use the liquid version) have proven to be a very nice combo.

Have not experienced any disappointment with NXT from an appearance perspective, nor from application/removal. It has even proven to be a reasonably durable product. It is a product that receives much undue criticism IMO.
