Your Opinion on the best Waffle Weave

I am looking to give the microfiber Waffle Weave another try. I bought the big blue from paksak about a 1.5 years ago. I did not like the fact that it spreaded more water than it absorbed. I have heard good things about the new meguairs. Any other suggestions is welcomed. I am currently using something like the absorber. I have a black car if it matters.

Redgardless, the Megs towels are nice and some others I have liked are the WinnersCircle ones, the jumbo plush 20 x 40 MFs from TOL, and the old MF chamois that Steve used to carry.
 
I have 2 chamois from Steve and there were on sale, I think they still are, just check his warehouse sale post. They work very nice, and I would recommend them as they do a great job! To prevent swirls and scratches it is best not to pull them rather try blotting, and pulling as little as possible.
 
I have the GC Meg's one. I don't have any others to compare it to, but I like the results I get with it.
 
my absorber works good, and have yet to try a Waffle Weave, but wanna try it. I like drying with the absorber, than QDing with a MF. That removed any water spots or anything that could've been left behind.
 
I love the waffle weaves from ultramicrofiber on Ebay. He sell's them for $26 shipped. They measure 5ft x 3 ft. I can almost dry my entire Maxima with one towel. In fact I think I may order another one of these right now! Thanks for reminding me.

Though I am a huge fan of MF toweling, terry and WW, this is an area that they just fall short of being a great drying tool. The best option for me is multiple WW towels or the Absorber and a single WW.

I don't know what your towel washing procedures are. Have you tried vinegar in your rinse water?

When you're dealing with the better vendors as discussed here, you will likely get a good product. Though I've never purchased from Ranney, his reputation is flawless for providing quality products and customer service. I feel certain that you could find a product equal to what he has to offer, but I don't know that you can find "better".
 
I don't really like WW towels. They don't seem to do the trick for me. Dwayne (PAC) has a big blue MF drying towel (20" x 40") that does a great job of drying. It might be something you could look into.
 
You can add a cup of vinegar to the 2nd rinse of a wash cycle to help remove remaining wax/polish/etc. This will bring back the absorbancy property of the towel (not sure that's even a word!) It also helps to bring back the plushness of the towel.

I have to agree with John, I have four of ExcelDetail's Pacific Blue WW and just love them. They suck water up like a magnet and have never mar my finish. Two towels easily dry my truck. Before the Excel towels I was using a big blue and it just doesn't compare.

I had an F150 SuperCrew (big vehicle). After a proper "flood" rinse, I could dry the entire vehicle with one (two max) Big Blue WW towels.

Mimimize the standing water (flood rinse) and them wipe SLOWLY with the WW towel. Did I mention to wipe SLOWLY... give the towel some time to soak up the water!

P.S. Don't forget to wipe SLOWLY! :D
