your favorite for stained trim?

i am redoing my entire trim, it is stianed.



i want to clean it rreally well, treat it, and protect it



any tips? It is stained from some wax someone left on it :(
 
Qd's have worked well for me. I think I've had the best results with either Sonus or FI. I can't remember which. Whichever it was, it got rid of wax that was at least a year old on black, textured door handles.
 
BigLeegr's right. QD's work. Also try some #40 on thicker wax residue with a q-tip or terry towel (depending on the location).
 
I use black again, stuff is amazing, and it gets rid of the wax, doesnt hide it so it wont return



Oh, and eclipse 550hp, I dont think its too uncommon to see a honda click off 11's at the track and go home under its own power. To be honest, I know a few guys that daily drive 11 second hondas in my area...one of them is even ALL MOTOR :shocked I got a better question though...ever see an eclipse hit 100k miles going that fast without crankwalking? Nope :nono
 
Peanut Butter...don't knock it until you try it. apply w/ a soft bristle toothbrush, let it sit, rinse off.

If you get "Crunchy," you benefit from the diminishing abrasives action :D



Does this trick affect the paint (ie: if some pb were to get on the paint, does the section need to be re-treated)?

Best thing I've found for removing and treating plastic and trim is Meguiars Gold Class Trim Detailer

Unfortunately, it's not carried in many of the stores that I usually visit. If you don't mind waiting for delivery from an online order, it's well worth it. Cleans great, shines great and lasts long. Doesn't run, streak, or attract dust.

I second this.. I use a large white pen eraser.. some thing basically tho. Works great for cleaning trim up.
 
I have used many - Black Again, Mothers, Klasse rubber/vinyl, etc...



I tried recently, and it is my new found favorite, Autoglym Bumper Care.



The stuff rocks. It ate up any trim stain and left an awesome black finish. It's a thick cream with a real chemical cleaner smell to it.



It works marvels for textured plastic, rubber and vinyl.



I also love AIO for trim. I did my entire Honda trim with it yesterday. It really shines up the side view mirrors, door trim and window trim.

I think any Bug/Tar/Wax Remover used to prep, then a solid protectant like 303 Aerospace does the job quite well.
 
Try meguiars #39 and if more cleaning action is needed use with a brush. Follow with your choice protectants.



Another choice to clean trim with is Top of the Line's Deep Down.
