you don't see one of these every day (meguiar's medallion)

haven't posted on bimmer.org for probably at least a year. but yes, I used to post there and I did at one time have most of the Dinan mods on my car. since they added almost no performance, I pulled the parts off and sold them. only have the stage II suspension now.

by the way, this is a 1971 Montessa Cota 247, vintage trials bike. I restored it first in 1989.

Wow man, thanks for the pics! The bike looks incredible. Seeing that thing really brings back some memorys of my trail riding/motocross days growing up. Anyone here remember the Bultaco bikes? How about Hodaka (Combat Wombat!)? Ah the days when Bob Hannah, Marty Smith, Jim Pomeroy, Garret Wolsnick and of course Roger DeCoster were my heroes:up

my buddy had a Bultaco from teh same era that he recently sold. Montesa wasn't imported as much as Bultaco so finding replacement parts is even more difficult.

for anyone who is interested, here is what the new ones look like (Honda took over some time back and revived the company - HRC engines!!).

Sheesh, those days don't seem all that long ago. How about Torsten Hallmann and Joel Robert on the Husquvarna and the CZ. Roger DeCoster was the 2nd level rider for CZ, behind Robert. Saw them at Sedan, KS in 1967. Had a couple of Bultacos. Loved the darn things, but they cost me $25 every time I rode 'em. Ride four times, spend $100, never failed. This was in the late 60's and 100 bucks was a lot of money.
