To start off I'm not an expert detailer. I hope to be someday.
I recently purchased another car which would be my DD/track car. It's an 89' Mustang Gt. Fully built motor, every bolt-on and much more. Ran great, but looked like ****. Paint was faded, there was over spray and tree sap everywhere. Basically it needed hours of claying and buffing to get it decent.
The front and rear bumper need replaced so I did not spend much time on them. The car is black with chrome rims(which looked terrible before the detail)
This is when I first got it:
After I washed it:
I decided to high speed buff it first(first time doing a black car) and I quickly realized it was a waste of time because all those little spot you see took me 6 hours to get out with clay barring.
After a ton of clay barring later I got most of the spots out and theb buffed it again.
I decided to move onto the wheels for a bit. Worked on each wheel for about 20 minutes each. I didn't get them perfect, but they are pretty much almost there.
I am gonna try this new 4 step detail kit I found. It should give it a mirror like image.
Finaaly after buffing the whole car then applying a good coat of wax the car looked pretty good. From a slight distance.
I didn't get any pics of the other side because there was a piece of trim molding that had to be removed. Made the other side look pretty bad.
I like to think I did a good job on it. It still needs some work, but for now it looks good enough.
