Yet more noob PC questions ?

Are there any differences between different backing plates besides the size ? For instance, Coastal Tool PC includes 6" backing plate. Is this any good or is LC backing plate better ?

If I get 6" backing plate and 6 1/2 or 7 1/2 inch pads, are these too big for serious defect removals ? I'm planning on using SSR 2.5 to try to get rid of a couple of bird droppings that have etched into the paint.

I think that the six inch backing plate is a great addition to the pc where 7.5 inch pads are concerned. But I believe that a samller backing plate with smaller pads will give you better correction of defects.

They have neoprene backing plates that kinda bend alittle to give you some help on curved surfaces. I use 7 1/2 for my SSR's and the 6in for wax / sealant apps.
