Yet another Zaino guy

Hello everyone.



While I have a black car that still needs work beyond just Zaino, I thought I'd share a few pics of the red one.



All shots are Z5, Z6, Z2, Z6, Z2, Z6. All hand applied and hand buffed with yellow Costco MF towels. No polish or SMR. Camera is a Sony DSC-F707.

But the depth comes out in the sun.

Pretty good even when wet.

The depth may come out in the sun, but the forest picture is by far and away the best one.

I posted a thread in the AU forum about the black car, but here it is in a nutshell. I recently picked up a black '93 M5. BMW calls the paint Schwarz II, it's a non-metallic, clear-coated black with a lot of orange peel.



Aside from the usual swirl marks and spider webbing that came from years of wiping with cheap towels, the paint has what looks like tiny pitting. It almost looks like the paint was outgassing below the clear coat.



Zaino simply doesn't work on this car. It seems to smear on this car, and it doesn't look good until after the next wash. No depth either. This is my first black car, BTW.



So I have purchased a PC7424 and plan on the following:



Clay

2000 wet sand a few problem areas

IP

FPII

Z5

Z2

TS topper



My goal is to make the M5 look better than the C4S above. Comments are welcome.
