Becasue......my girlfriend's parents asked me what I wanted, and I told them the PC 7242, but they can't find it anywhere...so they went to Sears and the salesman said they had something very similar.....I searched this site...the craftsman site....and I've had no luck:(

The PC is a trade name for Porter Cable not a 'type of tool, and it's available from www.portercable.com or most detailer supply websites (inc this one)

~Hope this helps~

Get them to buy the PC 7424 kit online from http://www.coastaltool.com . They sell the machine, hook and loop backing plate and both the 5" and 6" counterweights in one nice package. Can't get the package anywhere else. If not, try lowes as suggested.

They went to lowes and home depot...no success, she said she bought a Craftsman that has the same features....I guess I'll see X-mas day???

The craftsman buffers I know of are only one speed and their motors will 'bog down' as soon as they touch your paint rendering them useless.

In the end, it is Christmas, and it's the thought that really counts. Give your girlfriends parents a big hug and a thank you...

...then log into the coastool site and pick yourself up a PC.

As a very wise member of this site used to say:

"Do it right, or don't do it at all"

ya know, I was at Sears the other day and Craftsman did have a 6" Random Orbital, 2 speed buffer, that actually looked pretty nice, especially for the price (around $50 with backing plate and some bonnets). I dunno, I haven't seen a review of one, but as far as looks go, it looked alright!

I guess it might be a new thing.....her mom said there is a 6 inch and a 10 inch....Maybe Craftsman came out with something new:dunno:
