year of production: Turtle Wax bottles and paste cans

At local auto parts store, I noticed that Turtle Wax products have production batch code starting with

06 or 07 (e.g. 07015 0004APP).

So I wondered whether the first two digits mean the year of production of that product. I called Turtle Wax, and she said yes.

Year of production on the bottle. This is a nice feature. I hope every car care manufacturer should print it on each bottle.

Did you happen to ask what the rest of the digits mean? The way you wrote your third sentence it sounds like the lady you spoke to is named "Turtle Wax". I take it that is not the case?

The digits I mentioned is different from bar codes.

All Turtle Wax Platinum Liquid wax have the same bar code number. However, batch number can differ bottle by bottle. The TW Platinum liquid bottles in the shop: some start with 07, some with 06, some with neither 05, 06, or 07 (this has older label. the label design of TW platinum changed a couple of times and I could identify the old label. I guess TW started the production year printing in about 2005 or 2006.)

By the way, I was disappointed with the bottle cap tightening of TW Platinum manufactured in 2007. The cap should be tightend at the factory so that a mere rotation does not open the cap, because it is a press-and-rotate design. However, the cap was opend by gentle rotaion without pressing the cap. I complained about this about one or two years ago, but TW did not listen.

Yes they are......LOL.

I have yet to see one used, or use one myself that impressed me AT ALL!

Ok, I have to admit I'm not impressed by the "Ice" line but have you honestly tried any of the Platinum products? I have and they're just as good as many boutique lines. Especially the liquid wax (sealant). It held up for over 2 months on a car that sits outside pretty much 24/7. Just my .02 cents

I sure have, and when I washed my car every week as I normally do, it only APPEARED to still be protecting at 1 month. Then, the water pooled, no beading, no quick sheeting. Just didn't do as well as ANYTHING I have used before.
