Xtreme Vehicle Makeover - 2002 Jeep Liberty Edition

You're probably laughing right now and saying, "There's no way a 2002 is an 'Xtreme' job", but lemme tell you, this vehicle had it all.

Second owners (I believe), the owner contacted me for "the works" minus an engine detail (no pics of interior). This vehicle kicked my tail and 5 1/2 hours later, it looked (as my other client stated) "like it rolled off the showroom floor".

The condition of the exterior was purely haggard. The contamination was abundant as proved by the constant kneading of my Meguiar's Overspray Claybar. Every single piece of plastic trim had wax on it and many pieces were sanded (?). All of the emblems were caked in white residue and it looked like the previous "detailer" hit them with the rotary and wool pad as proved by the chrome ripped off. Most of the side panels were sanded (?) and purely scoured by absolute neglect. The entire vehicle was also covered in heavy holograms and general washing/drying induced swirl marks. (breathe)

I worked hard on this puppy and I hope the pictures express that. My finals were:

Clean
-QEW x 2
-Meguiar's Agressive Overspray Clay with S+W as lube
-IPA and TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 with various brushes to clean trim
-TOL Tire Cleaner cut 50/50 on tires and wells
-Meguiar's Wheel Brightener cut 3:1 on wheels

Correct
-Hi-Temp Extreme Cut via rotary and LC yellow cutting pad @ 1500 rpm x 2
-Menzerna Final Polish II via rotary and LC white polishing pad @ 1200 rpm
-Poorboy's PwS on glass, wheels, and chrome grille

Protect
-Meguiar's #21 Sealant x 2
-CD-2 Engine Detailer in wells
-Meguiar's Insane Shine Tire Spray on tires (buffed)
-Turbo Wax Tire Gel on all trim

I can't really say anything other than fantastic job! Your work has always impressed me and I fell like I'm never let down.

You should not fear owning a black car with work like that!

How did your oxi mix work on the owners pants? He had to load them up when he saw the results :)

Thank you everyone!

Greg: Funny, I always have a HELLUVA time with Nissan paint and the rotary...it really bothers me.

John: Truth be told, I moved onto the Honda Accord (other post) after this, but at the same house. The owners of the Liberty just dropped it off in the morning. We had a 20 minute rain shower and then they showed up :(. Thankfully, they saw through the beads.

heffergm: I charged $190.

bossplaya: Usually I would buff the entire vehicle. However, this roof was like a typical SUV in that it has the raised and lowered indentations (for loading I believe). The roof was rotary buffed and covered in holograms. Considering how many high points there were, I wasn't about to burn any marks in a roof that only tractor trailers and people in buildings can see. The owners understood when I told them that some areas are too far gone to risk. I clayed it, polished with PwS, and sealed with Meguiar's #21.
