What a great example of a car to show the potential X-Kote has. The gentleman was blown away with the depth and shine we were able to put back into his old classic.

Process:

Wash

Rotary polish 1 stage with medium cleaner ( meguirs)

Wash again

Dry with compressed air

tape all chrome, trim and windows

degrease with surface cleaner

X-Kote ( 1 coat only required on this car)

Another question. Does the CC have to be intact to do that?

To answer your question about the clearcoat yes it needs to be intact for X-Kote to work...... on a base/clear car. This car is an old single stage enamel paint as long as the single stage paint is intact X-Kote will work as well.

I'm Impressed....looks great...from dull orange to factory color....

Now do you cut and polish the paint to get best gloss and then use the product to enhance the paint...it looks nice.....

also would this work if say some some burnt thru the clear while polishing the paint and seal the burnt paint area and add UV protection to a point...

Nice Job

Yes we polish the paint back to a point meduim to light swirl marks left behind by the polisher are filled in with the X-Kote. The X-Kote will enhance the polish job in color and shine plus give the paint a UV protective barrier so that it will not fade back to what it formally was.

As for burning through clear, if one was to do that you can X-Kote and seal that burn mark but it will still be a noticeable flaw.

Great job! How did you manage to get in all of the nooks and crannies around the lights?

The product is basically a wipe on clear coat, so it's easy to get in around the lights.

I dunno whats up with the pictures but can you explain why these shots looks soo extreme than the ones on the actual X-Kote website?

No offense here but if it was such a great product why in the world would they not make it available to pro detailers? How many dealers do you hear of that put out good work?

The pics you see on the X-Kote site were taken with the same camera about 2 days apart. The after photos I have posted are ones I took myself 4 days later with a different camera and different lighting.
