WW towel

Is it the 24 x 36 WW towel from PakShak that everyone is buying for drying? And will 1 towel dry a mid sized sedan? I have 2 towels I bought off of EBay and they work great but once they are wet to the point where they need rung out you can't get enough out to not leave water trails so I use both to do the body.

I have the WW towel from Pakshak. I have no problems at all using it alone to dry my Ford F150. I don't know how I lived without it.

I use the ww towel from PakShak and am happy with it. I need to wring it out for a couple of times to do my mid-size sedan. I decided to buy another one since I was tired of doing this.

I use a California Water Blade to get most of the water off and then a Pak Shak or Big Blue waffle weave will easily finish the rest of the car or SUV. However, I still have two waffle weaves just because I am a suffering autopian...

Pakshak WW dries my Laguna which is IMO slightly bigger than a Passat. I usually sheet as much water as I can first, follow with my aqua blade then spot dry with the WW. It's usually slightly damp when I finish - never had to wring it out at all.

Megs WW now relegated to door jambs etc!

As an afterthought I also treat my blade with AG rubber & vinyl dressing every time I use it - wipe on, wipe off. This probably makes little difference to its overall performance but might make it a fraction slicker - important with a tool which is in constant contact with my paint!

I have waffle weaves from 4 different vendors and they all work great. If you purchase one from a vendor that sells good quality MF you will do fine.

I have 2 from Pakshak, 4 from Autogeek, 2 from CMA, and the Meguiars WW. There are minor differences but they are all great towels.

I also suggest you get two. One can dry my entire car (similar size to your passat) but by that last panel its pretty wet. I wish I'd bought two.

I find that one towel is plenty as long as I properly sheet the water off during my final rinse.

I own about 40 waffle-weaves from several different vendors, but this is only because I've decided to use waffle weaves for ALL my detailing and not just for drying. There are advantages to using WW for drying, but I've found that there are also many advantages to using WW for all aspects of detailing. I think DavidB has got it right in deciding to use the Waffle pattern in his Ultimate Detailing Towels.

Now I just got to figure out what to do with my supply of terry-cloth MF's.

I haven't ordered any WW's from Pakshak, but yes, 24x36 would be the ideal size for drying.

BTW I ordered a WW towel from pakshak and after the order was placed I sent a special shipping request to Ranny and he replied promptly confirming he would do as I requested .. Very good service ... Now just waiting... :p

I actually use 3 WW pakshaks to dry my little Audi TT! I don't like to wring it out or use a waterblade. I do sheet the water with the hose to get off as much water as possible. I love my WW, can't believe I've been using regular cotton towels for the past 10 years!

So which WW do you all think is more superior than others or are they pretty much the same?. I currently have three detailing towels and a WW from DavidB and I think their wonderful. I'm also thinking of switching to WW as only my detailing towels.

Hi BlueDragonZ,

I have heard many favorable reviews for the following suppliers:

DavidB Autopia WW

CMA WW

Autofiber WW

Microfibertech WW

JT International WW

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the above. :xyxthumbs

They are pretty much all the same.

With Aloha,

Ranney :)

Thanks.

I figured Autopia WW is one of the better ones out there. :xyxthumbs

I bought two Pakshak WW's, but I've found one is all I need to completely dry after a QEW.

They are simply awesome! :xyxthumbs

You won't regret it at all. IMO, the WW is superior to terry MF's in every way...

Terry MF's are great, but there were a few things that prevented them from being 'perfect' in my mind. WW towels took care of all issues I had with terry MF's.
