If you're talking about this WW from Danse:

Danase Waffle Weave Drying Towel

That is one of my favorite WW's, and the same one is sold by a few other vendors. I haven't had any problems with the satin binding, but I usually fold them so there is minimal contact with the binding to the paint.

To answer your other question I don't think the Riptide WW's from ExcelDetail have a satin binding, you might want to e-mail Patrick and ask. Also, as getright mentioned, the Poorboy's WW was one of my favorite towels and it didn't have a satin binding. That towel was not as soft, but they dried well w/o marring.

You could also try the white WW's from Wal-Mart in the houswares section that come in a two pack fairly cheap. I can't remember the price but they don't have a satin binding. They aren't too bad a towel, but I like the big soft ones with a satin binding myself. If you do a search there was a very long thread going about the Wal-Mart WW's.

I own two Meg's WW which I bought a while back at a automotive store. One has a satin edge the other doesn't.
