I know which ones you're talking about. I bought several of the 3 paks for my interior. The new polishing ones are a yellow and they actually have an edge. I wish I would have saved the wrapping. I don't care for them as much. I haven't found any more of the orange ones so I guessed that these yellow ones were new. I wish I could find more of the orange edgeless ones - they are perfect for windows.
 
You can order the Mothers equivalent online from several places too. A good discount seller is Detailer's Domain (google for URL). They are priced at $4.99 ea if I recall.
 
Try these window cleaning towles from Danase. I was blown away. No lint whatsoever.

After a few washes they lint like crazy! For me the only thing worse are those really flufy drying towels; only WW for me.

I'm envious :D I've always kept my towels separate (even doing WW and woven glass towels separately) yet I *still* get the lint from my MicroPak WW glass towels. It took about five months (of near daily use and much subsequent washing) but eventually it happened :( I'm using my last (new) one now, bet it's good for another month or so before it does it too.



This thread reminds me that I want to try some of the Danase ones...time to give Bob some business.

Interesting, you probably do 10Xs the cars that I do and use more mfs than me, so I have no doubt you are experiencing this problem. Could it be possible that you mixed the mfs with the ww glass towels or it picked up lint from your dryer? Hope this doesnt lead to a washer and dryer thread, LOL! I only have 3 ww glass towels, but two of them are about 2 yrs old and still not linting.

Well, I only do our ~6 vehicles, but I do at least one windshield a day and usually a lot more (inside windows on the dog-haulers get done almost every day).

Nah, there's *NO* chance they ever got mixed or even stored together and the lint-from-dryer doesn't seem likely as the linting only surfaces after the towels have been in use for a while and then it happens suddenly. And subsequent washing/drying in our other washer/dryer doesn't solve it. Also, I clean the washing machines frequently and I also wipe out the drums of the dryers pretty often. Good thinking though! I reall do think it's just the towels.

Heh heh, we *have* discussed washing machines before :D Funny with the (my) linting...my one plush Cobra MF for glass must be nearly ten years old and it still doesn't lint!



I just use the linting ones around the hose (exterior windows, drying tile floors, etc.). I'm waiting to see if my woven/non-plush ones ever start to lint, if they do I'll try the Danase ones next.



Still think those Griot's polypropylene wipes work great for the final passes though.

That's odd, I bought a few and noticed they left lint on my windows with invisible glass. I've since started using WW drying towel with better results.

Heh heh, actually they don't do the nose-to-the-window thing much, but they're..uhm..perspiring heavily when I finish exercising them, so by the end of the drive back I always have a challenge :rolleyes:



When I take #1 K9 someplace by himself he doesn't make any mess at all (thank goodness), it's just the excercise sessions that get things messy.
 
To this day in my 17 years of detailing the best thing that has worked for me time and time again is good old fashioned leather shammys.

Huh, talk about YMMV! Leather chamois always leave tiny bits of moisture behind for me, and I do mean *always* :nixweiss I used 'em maybe as long as you have, but I always had to do a follow-up with a cotton towel (and when MFs and synthetic chamois came out that was the end of my leather ones). But hey, if it works for you, well, lucky you :D
