Wurth wax on top of Wurth Rubber Care in Engine Compartment?

David's engine care kit - excellent kit, btw and includes this great little applicator stuck to the top of a little bottle for use on all rubber seals - says to treat rubber/plastic in the engine compartment with Wurth Rubber Care.

Next step says use engine compartment spray wax (Wurth) on all surfaces in the engine.

Think that means the rubber stuff too? I'm guessing so...

zenhog, nobody's yet replied to this thread, and I don't have experience with this product. Suggest you send a PM to David.

Will do, thanks.

Thanks again for your help yesterday, that was very kind of you. The stuff goes on this morning! (please don't tell me I have to re-wash the car - it seemed to only need a California Car Duster onceover.)

And there seems to be so much I can learn from standing over a car and talking with experienced people such as Brad and yourself; I hope we get to do that get-together soon.

ZenHog- I haven't used the Wurth wax, but I HAVE used their Rubber Care. I myself would try NOT to get anything like a wax on surfaces already treated with the Rubber Care. I DO, however, sincerely doubt that it will be a big deal if you do. Maybe do another, quick wipe of the rubber/plastic bits.

Thanks Accumulator. Toooooo late now, just finished the 454. Oh well, next engine detail I'm sure the cleaner will take it off, and if I'm not supposed to put that on then I'll skip it next time. Will be interesting to see what happens to the surface of that rubber now though.

Yeah, let us know how it "ages". I take it it looks fine now. I just try to err on the side of caution, having had some "wrong product on the wrong surface" stains that lasted FOREVER (or at least as long as I owned the car).
